I'm so surprised that the black community has such a high incarceration rate.

This LR vs NW Arkansas crap is so dang old it is pathetic.

And to be fair, it wasn't even LR. The LR vs NWA debate is essentially Arkansas vs NWA, because LR gets blamed for everything NWA doesn't like.

And how exactly did you come to the conclusion that none of them have?

So few words; so much ignorance.

Well, the family went on the local news and said that the video showing him shooting at the police meant nothing and that the cops were to blame for this. I'll go by their own words.

This young man made a lot of really poor decisions and it cost him his life. Hope other young men see this and turn their lives around.

Pulling a gun and shooting at someone isn't a poor decision, it is murderous intent. The cops saved the taxpayers a ton of cash, good for them.

It wasn't just that. He was out on bail and was the suspect in a string of robberies. I forget if they were armed robberies or not. He lived the lifestyle that he wanted and he's dead now because of that. The cops did their job and it's a shame that he put them in that position. If you saw the video it was clear that the cop was going out of his way to avoid a conflict.

It's a social injustice issue.

The real question that you should be asking is why would people support someone after they behaved in the manner this man did?

Or you could just make a smarmy comment on a message board and help contribute to the divide. The same divide that TV news networks like Fox News exploit for profit. A network that you almost undoubtedly watch.

You don't know which tv network I watch.

I think the sarcasm went over your head.

Hmm, aside from common sense being blinded by sadness over the loss of a family member or friend I've got nothing.

It sure didn't- in any way- perpetuate the notion that cops are big meanies just out trying to hurt people. In fact, it's the opposite which, in turn, does nothing for the 'cause'.

Youre denying you watch Fox News? That is a simple yes or no question.

Your Ad Hominem attack answered the question for me but I would still appreciate a direct answer.

Grief over losing a family member and young member of the community is a part of it.

Another part of it is that people of a lower socioeconomiic status tend to have a different experience than those of a higher. I am not attempting to make an excuse; knowing this and $8 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks.

But the flipside of people who always make an excuse are the people who dismiss the negative experience of others in an attempt to feel better about their own.

Before I type out a novel, Im gonna stomp and point out that this thread is in extremely poor taste and reeks of the dichotomous thinking that is destroying American culture. That was the original point I was attempting to make. There are a plethora of problems in our justice system, specifically with regards to profiling and punishment, but that does not change the fact that the police are a vital part of society who risk their lives every day.

Well then, my friend, you have my apologies for making an incorrect assumption.

Your thread still sucks. And so do your game threads.

Agree 1000%. There are legitimate issues with income inequalities, sentencing disparities, educational access etc., but it seems like we can't focus on addressing those in a serious fashion due to everything being overpoliticized on every side. This guy was obviously a poor choice to bear the standard for better policing, and that just riles up the folks that think some people should just "stay on their side of town". Next month an innocent motorist will get gunned down and some news agencies will try and find a picture of the guy in a hoodie and trash his reputation to drive viewership. It's ridiculous we live in a time where you have to vet all your news. If we can't all agree on facts we have no chance of fixing the issues facing this country. I firmly believe the majority of people in tghis country are moderates who are willing to make compromises for the greater good. Unfortunately, we have no representation in government, or the media. There is no money in moderation, and that drives everything to the fringes of both sides. /rant off

Can’t argue with any of that. Now it seems you're either with us in full or you’re the enemy.
