**Coach Thomas said the YAC (yards after contact) on Saturday was good. JoJo Wynn had the best average on the team.
**Kiero Small returned to practice today. he said the players have two-a-day legs right now. Said there is game legs and two a day legs and right now the players have two a day legs
**Melvinson Hartfield is on his way here now driving. He has been cleared as reported today. He isn't here yet though.
**Coach Thomas said that Patrick Arinze is the one who benefitted the most from Kiero being out. He said Arinze got snaps he might not have gotten.
**Kody Walker had a good scrimmage and is playing more TB than FB right now.
**Coach Thomas said that Alex Collins is about where he thought he would be at this point. Said he did some good things on Saturday, but also has some things he needs to improve on.
**Coach Thomas said he was pleased the ball wasn't on the ground on Saturday, but they did have one fumble today. Didn't say who but wasn't happy about it.
**Kody said about 70 percent of his snaps are at TB and the other 30 percent at fullback.
**Kody said ball security is a big thing on this team. Put the ball on the ground and that means a lap for that player. Kody said the players police it themselves.

Joel Thomas was pleased with his running backs following Saturday's scrimmage though he wasn't as pleased with them during Monday's two-a-day's.
“I liked the effort out there,” Thomas said of Saturday. “It was our first scrimmage, we took care of the ball. That's always a positive.
“I felt like the guys got a lot of YAC (yards after contact) with the highest average 4.3 (JoJo Wynn). I think Alex (Collins) was 3.5 and Jonathan (Williams) was right around that 3.0 area. Getting yards after contact means you're capable of getting big plays as the game goes along.”
As far as Monday's practices, Thomas stated what was the most disappointing.
“Today was two-a-day so it got to them a little bit,” Thomas said. “We had one out on the ground which isn't acceptable at all. We addressed that.
“We've got to be better every single day to go through camp. We've got about 20 days to be a mature group. You are not going to get any sympathy letters from your opponents on Saturday. You might be younger and less experienced, but that's not an excuse.”
Thomas said the backs did have some chances for longer runs at times on Saturday, but for various reasons that didn't happen.
“There was lost real estate out there,” Thomas said. “That's how I deem it when I talk to the guys. There was a couple of plays out there that kept us from getting better field position than we did.
“You have the repetitions of getting your scheme or technique down and little nuances of running the ball and trusting your linemen and how they're going to set the block. I think that is getting better everyday and it wouldn't surprise me at the next scrimmage if it happened.”
Kiero Small is a little banged up right now, but nothing serious.
Thomas said they had six assignment busts during the entire scrimmage.
“All in all that isn't bad,” Thomas said of the half dozen. “I want to strive for zero. You should know your assignments at all times and execute them. That's a reasonable request to ask.”
At fullback, senior Kiero Small didn't practice on Saturday. Thomas said that allowed one of Small's teammates to get some additional reps.
“Right now with Kiero banged up Patrick (Arinze) is getting the reps,” Thomas said. “Maybe he wouldn't have gotten that number of reps if Kiero wasn't banged up.
“I like the fact now that when Kiero comes back with Patrick coming on now I've got two guys who know that our system. Morgan (Linton) had extensive playing time last year and Kody (Walker) is getting some looks there as well. It's a position that is developing and one we use in this offense.”
Collins led all rushers on Saturday and brings a lot of excitement to the offense each time he touches the ball.
“He's about on par right now,” Thomas said of Collins' progress. “We anticipated some nice explosive runs and he did. He showed his ability to make people miss. We've just got to keep on bringing him along. He's got to let his game form around our system and everyday there's something he gets better at and he's working every single minute to do that.”

Rustling Auburn jimmies, they cry, especially when you point out the flaws in their "great players recruited for Gus' offense" theory.
Really should have put them last in the my 13 days around the SEC threads, made it past LSU which I though I was home free, underestimated Aubbies.
Was having trouble with material for Bama, Vandy, and Florida anyway aTm was too easy right now.
Tennessee. Check
Kentucky. Check
LSU. Check
Auburn. Check
Mizzou was set for yesterday.
Georgia today.
Landmass for an easy humpday.

I thought that you would enjoy that one. It was like the third drill of practice. I couldn't stop laughing.
I just wonder what the rest of your followers were thinking.

some positive news out of camp with the linebackers:
“The guy that stands out to me is Jarrett Lake," Coach Ash said. "He’s probably been the most consistent, the biggest playmaker that we’ve had through the course of camp so far. The D-line guys have been steady. Chris Smith and Trey Flowers have been good players. But Jarrett Lake has been a guy that’s really stood out."

Why is Denver Kirkland twitting he is in Miami?
Posted on 8/14/13 at 11:22 am to OSqueal
he said it's 11:11 in Miami, not that he's in Miami. looking at his past tweets, he has a thing for pointing out when it's 11:11.
