Don’t think he transitioned well to the college level speed.

I know he went to work on his throwing mechanics maybe last offseason.

One thing is certain if favorites were played in the past it will be open competition for everyone now.

I haven't seen him work in college, have you?
Yes. I saw him fumble a handoff vs. Alcorn State. I also saw him look like garbage vs. Auburn when Austin got hurt.

Storey has the worst throwing motion I've ever seen. He makes Uncle Rico look like Mallett.

Go to a on open practice and you will see this. Heck, go to a game and watch warm-ups.

Kelley, Hyatt, Lindsey, Proctor, the equipment crew, the timeout ref who wears the red hat, Tusk.... all throw a better ball than Storey.

Well, a lot of that comes with a little time, and an honest chance. I don't remember a young, inexperienced qb who didn't kick it around some.

I know there isn't a chance that he doesn't move better than Kelley.

If CK can get that hitch fixed, he's gonna be all SEC.

Footwork on the hitch is horrid. Hopefully Chadillac can fix that.

Lots of work, development and unknown across the QB position. The same could be said for the rest of the team too though.

WTF. That is too heavy for a guy who is 6'2" tall if he wants to be fast at all.

This previous staff was retard.

As far as the topic goes, I still hope Peavey transfers back in and wins the job. If he doesn't, Kelly needs to drop about 20 pounds if he has any hope of staving off Storey for the starting position next fall, IMO. It will be a good QB battle. They both have their pros and cons. I expect Morris will be able to adjust his schemes according to the talent he has at hand. Which will be a godsend compared with what we just dealt with.

Trevor knight the fastest qb last year in draft was 6'1 219.

Josh Dobbs 6'3 216

deshaun Watson 6'2 221.

Mitchel trubisky 6'2 222

Davis web 6'5 229

weight is not storeys problem.

never gonna happen.

Kelly easily beats storey. I saw no upside to storey on tape. every time he went in the game disaster happened. he sucks and probably should be processed but since he's from Arkansas let him get his degree free and in peace.

what pros does storey bring? what is he good at? it's not throwing or running....

Why is everybody forgetting about Daulton Hyatt? Had good numbers in high school (yes, I know that is not an absolute predictor for future performance.)
They shirted him because he was a true freshman and all the others already had been.
Will be interesting to see if gets in the mix in the spring.

By all accounts he was neck and neck with Kelly for the backup position. So this "can't throw" stuff is nonsense.

He has a high football IQ and a tremendous work ethic.

Downside to Kelly is low football IQ and one of the slowest releases I've ever seen.

And yeah, I think 220 is too heavy for him. Maybe the staff disagreed, but they had EVERYONE playing too heavy.

Why in the world would you piss on a kid like this? He threw for something like 13K yards with a 65% completion rate in high school. I don't know if he's worth a darn now, but he doesn't deserve your crap.

If he was anywhere close to as bad as you want to portray, he would have been gone long ago. You have all this to say about Storey but no critique of Kelley? Is he not dogshit to be ridiculed in some aspect, or is he the next Heisman winner?

ummm..... then they both got a chance on the field over the last season. one did mediocre and one had total trainwreck moments everytime.

good I hope he works and proves me wrong wish him all the best.

my point was simply that the top 5 qbs in the 40yd dash at the combine last year were similar to that size so acting like that's abnormal is silly. it's probably best he isn't a stick figure that Alabama breaks in half either.

Any of them can run his offense. The best QB will start regardless of style. Kelley is not a running QB. Just because Bert thought it was a good idea doesn't mean he is a running QB. But CCM is a "high school coach" meaning he can adapt his system to any QB. High school coaches don't get to recruit they just adapt their system to play the cards they are dealt. If he's the best QB then we will have a pocket passer. The good thing about cole is he's not completely immobile. He's nothing like tebow or anything but he's like Big Ben. Doesn't go down easy and extends the play

True.

He also had an extra year of development and a year in the system plus limited game experience and still lost out to Kelly.

That should be a sign to us that Kelly has a much higher ceiling.

If Kelly can improve his footwork with his height he could be dangerous in a quick pass type spread offense.

If I were CK, I would spend every day of the offseason at the Razorback Track Facility, watching film, and footwork.
