It's worth it, Hammons is a really nice park and the drive isn't bad at all. The square is close to the stadium and has had a lot of improvements here recently, plenty of good bars all over.
As far as eating, Houlihan's is a personal fav. Jimm's steakhouse and pub, Flame steakhouse and wine bar, Gilardi's for Italian, the Tower Club in the Hammons building right next to the ballpark is exceptional and they allow guests that aren't members.

Maria's is amazing for Mexican food, so good. My buddy worships the place.
Flame is great, but I think I like Jimm's a bit more.

Yeah I've been there a couple of times over the years. I really like the setup. The food there is pretty good too. If you're going to the game and can get in there then you definitely can't beat the location. We always park in that lot and then walk over to Hammons.
