Its obvious that reading combined with comprehension doesn't work with you, because his question was

But in that Arkansas basketball piece about Nolan a few years back didn't Nolan or the narrator say people were getting impatient with him right before he took off?

I am talking about pre-1990

Nolan didn't "take off" until his 5th year with his first Final Four at Arkansas.
Before then, many were restless and wanted him gone.
As it turned out his taking off only satisfied them until the first sign of stalling, when they again became impatient and restless.
These same people were more than satisfied with Suttons stale program the years immediately prior to Nolan, after the triplets had all graduated...

Yep, Razorback fans wanted Nolan gone after a Final 4, genius, I tell ya, genius.
What about the reason why he left (Pre 90's arguement)?
What you gotta say, son?

"See, my great-great-grandfather came over on the ship, I didn't," he said. "And I don't think you understand what I'm saying. My great-great-grandfather came over on the ship. Not Nolan Richardson.
"I did not come over on that ship, so I expect to be treated a little bit different," he said. "Because I know for a fact that I do not play on the same level as the other coaches around this school play on. I know that. You know it. And people of my color know that. And that angers me."
He said Tuesday in an interview with the host of his television show that social life "is not that good for a black athlete" in Fayetteville. He said the characterization might not sound right, but that Arkansas is a "place that they come to play basketball or come to play football."
When you say things like this right around national signing day for football...... you become expendable. Football will always be king here.

Why are you talking about dvh? We just had the greatest player in college baseball last year lol. I'm pretty sure he's doing his job

At this point I'm convinced that Pigfeet isn't even a Hog fan. He doesn't know basic facts about Nolan or how that situation unfolded. This thread is proof of that.

No Dale was right actually. When I said "took off" I was refering to right before the wins started to pile up. That's my fault for not putting that in a way eveyone would understand.

Your wording was fine for those of us who can read.
He was trying to make it sound like Nolan "took time off" from his job, which is a myth, he was trying to do his job with his hands tied behind his back thanks to Bama's accusations that led to the NCAA removing Pate and Sunday from the team as well as banning Arkansas from recruiting JUCOS.
When that was just being settled Ford/Nutt's pay for play scheme in Dallas was revealed during a divorce hearing and an assistant broke NCAA rules in the track program allowing the NCAA to slap a lack of institutional control on the program and strip scholarships from the basketball team and again sanction recruiting.
The guilty HC's were given a pass, Nolan was not.
His recruiting was actually picking back up in a big way before his dismissal.
The only similarity Nolan and Mike share is neither were given any slack by the fanbase for limiting circumstances beyond their control, Nolan with the University's problems with the NCAA and Mike for the program he inherited that was on the fast track to a post season ban and reduction in scholarships.

No slack whatsoever. Obviously, fans were extremely happy about his results from day 1.
