Not really. They take the brunt of the criticism, but they would be SOL if the Baptist weren't right behind them, pushing.
I graduated HS in 1988. Our senior class decided we were going to be the first one in decades to actually hold a senior prom dance at the HS gym. We got stonewalled by the school board, and found out later that the ruling had come directly from the pastor at the Baptist church, and the C of C.
So we had to have our prom on private property. Out of a graduating class of 43, I believe 4 pregnancies were a direct result of that prom. Brilliant!

I have had several family members, friends graduate from Harding. All of them are highly successful and are highly sought in their respective fields almost immediately.
It find it ironic, and a bit hypocritical of some on here to bash Harding... But be some of the same who blast the liberal crapfest being force fed at many/if not most state universities these days.
Let's go Brandon, until Brandon meets religion?

I don’t personally care as I didn’t go there, but I have heard multiple messed up stories from people who had. Just saying they were true.

Ok, there are stories from every college. Member ced Cobbs, just your classic sex trafficking football player, and yes it began while at the uofa, at least parts of it with abuse, etc. Member the big ole boy who was running drugs and guns, or the one who went nuts and offed himself, or the professor who was caught having sex with students...of both sex,s or the chancellor who did it with anyone, or the coach... yep, stories abound

All those are terrible things, but it isn’t the administration sending people to spy on their students to make sure they aren’t staying at a boyfriends/girlfriends house or drinking.
At the UA it’s a small group of people being terrible, but at Harding it’s the administration actively going after any minor offenses/fun.

I was trying to not be so forward with this, but I currently work actively with the vice presidents, student services, and Harding has a new president. While some may be true, there is often much more to the story. For example, a young man, under age was caught drinking, reprimanded, but then caught with vodka in his dorm, admitted to being addicted since his father gave it to him as a youth. Harding got him help, and counseling, he is still taking classes. Also, when you apply to Harding and sign your admission papers, you should know what you agree too

It’s a private school, they can do what they want. I just didn’t like everything i have heard about the “purity police”.
That’s personal opinion and I could see the benefit for some kids, but I think college is the time we all screwed up and figured out how to handle booze and mastered the falcon punch.

If you don’t like a Christian private schools policies don’t go there or send your kid there. I’ll push my kids towards a Williams or Harding before I will a state school. They’ll make the final choice but I’ll dang sure give my opinion.

yEP, Agree! I have several in my family that chose private universities. And worked their tails off for scholarships, on campus jobs, etc.
Have a diploma on my wall from a Christian University from another state. Masters as well. Blessed!

Williams has the Williams Works program now. You come in and work 20hrs a week on campus and your tuition is paid. If you stay during the summer and work they pay your room and board. You can legit graduate debt free and use your grant money for expenses.
Business all over town are signing up for those employees and are paying the Bill for them. They also have a farm on campus now that they sell goods from.

that is awesome, Harding is attempting to become "THE" medical science school of private universities. Doctorates of Pharmacy, PT, OT, Practitioner programs, and adding more soon.
It most definitely is expensive however.
