It doesn't seem to be that simple. Plenty of well established head coaches have bitched in recent years about how fund-raising is now a big part of their job when it wasn't before. Their budgets don't magically set themselves, they have to squeeze that money out of folks by shaking babies and kissing hands of big name folks. And winning on the field does not necessarily translate to NIL funds. See Musselman for example.

The dude wins more than we've won in decades, but allegedly rubbed some boosters the wrong way. In turn, we had NIL money, but we lost out on several players along the way because we weren't willing/able to outbid other top programs (again, allegedly). He leaves, we bring in a salesman, and we suddenly have more money than anyone in college basketball. Whether that translates into wins is yet to be seen. But it certainly translates to the talent Arkansas puts out there.

I wouldn't mind Petrino at HC (I'd certainly prefer him over what we've got), but I don't feel like it will be as seamless as a lot of folks think. However, I'm all on board for him sticking around as OC for the forseeable future.

Weren't the potential legal issues debunked during the OC hiring process? Or was that only because he took a demotion from his previous position?
