Bama got Brandon Miller, who is 6-9. We got Walsh.

I think we saw the difference last night.

At least Miller was rated a couple spots higher than Walsh a a recruit (#5 SF vs #7).

Gradey Dick was rated #8 SF and he can flat out stroke it.

To be fair though, is NSJ were hethy all season, I think he would be very comparable to Miller, stats and capability wise, only a few inches shorter.

Saving this thread to pull out during post season.

In general...so many on here really need to learn the axiom that its better to be quiet and let people think you are stupid than to post online and confirm it.

1) We lost Nick Smith Jr. and Trevon Brazille...our 2 best 3 point shooters. We're still good.

2) Muss does the same thing every year...focus on defense until it finally starts clicking then offense gets easier due to turnovers, etc. Every year the same melts until we click when it counts.

3) We have shooters recruited btw (NSJ and Brazille count). Pinion is about as good a shooter as you'll find...he just can't defend yet. Every time we put him in a game the opponent just isolates him with whomever he's guarding.

4) Anyone bashing Devo knows absolutely nothing about the game. Yes, his weakness is getting a bit wild at times, but the kid is clutch and literally one of the best 1-1 defenders in college basketball.

I'm out til tourney time, when I'll bring the crow.

Fair enough. Devo was by far the MVP of this game and if you’re talking about just player bashing, I’m not going down that road. I’m just saying that we’re in for it this year if Devo is consistently putting up the best numbers every game.

I just ask one question, would we have been better off if Devo had stayed away from the team? Yeah... NO!!!

You are probably right, but he shouldn't be hammered because everyone else plays like dog crap. Well, almost everyone else.

I don’t recall being the individual who went on any rant or said anything on that level. I’m just that if he’s at the top of the stat line this year we are probably in for it. That’s not his fault. To further clarify, he’s clearly being/doing asked to do more than what he can handle without a drop off somewhere else. And yes, he isn’t getting hardly any help from a lot of his teammates.

We in here crying about Devo and we got guys who cant do simple things like hit a layup or make a free throw.

Devo has at least won some games for us in the past. Go look at big games and look at his stat line. You can't deny he shows up when it counts.

These other guys outside of Black haven't done that.

Hitting for 30 against Outhouse State doesn't really matter in the scheme of things.

I can think back to some tournament games where he hit a big shot or made a play.

When we beat Kentucky @ Rupp a few years ago he stole the inbound pass to prevent their last second shot.

Devo is a very good transition scorer. Not always the best transition ball handler, but when he gets the ball and goes to the basket in transition he generally scores well.

Figure out how to make the tourney and the season is still a solid success. 2nd round or sweet 16 would be Muss magic.

Expecting much more than that being without TB and NSH with all the freshman was unreasonable I’m afraid.
