So after the first weekend, what would be your lineup after seeing three games? Any changes? Here is what I would roll with.
DH Ezell
SS Kenley
3B Martin
RF Kjerstad
CF Fletcher
2B Nesbit
C Opitz
1B McFarland
LF Franklin
I just think Casey needs to head back to the line at 3rd. Need height at 1B and someone who can dig a bit better than Ezell. Once Ezell has healed then look at putting him at 2B. I really like Franklin for his arm. Sort of disappointed when I saw Goodheart let one go from out there.

Can't disagree with that line up.

Pretty good points all around. I bet McFarland will be at first when things settle.

I didn't really understand why Franklin didn't play much after having a homer in the first game, but I guess it's still early and tinkering with the lineup. I love the idea of having Franklin and Martin back to back on the basepaths but I would like to see Martin hitting 3rd for his power as well.
Fletcher has too much swing and miss for the 4 hole IMO. I might go:
Ezell
Fletcher
Martin
Kjerstad
Opitz
Kenley
Nesbit
McFarland
Franklin
I like Goodheart ok but just don't see a spot for him right now. Ezell and Opitz really surprised me with their speed. I think our team speed is a lot better than it was last year. McFarland looked like a disaster defensively in the few times he played 1B last year but might be our best option.

You think a guy that swings and misses too much should bat 2nd rather than 4th?

Spanberger had some swing and miss but he worked pretty well hitting 2nd. I would rather him strike out with 0 or 1 out and I trust Kjerstad more with the bases potentially loaded. Plus Fletcher doesn't seem to hit many ground balls that could end in double plays and frankly our lineup isn't deep enough (or at least proven) to where I feel comfortable putting anyone else there.

Supposedly goodhart is one of the best hitters on the team idk how true that is but I remember heading van horn say something like that before the season (I agree he looked very lackluster defensively), and with regards to fletcher if you think he swings and misses too much but has great power you put that type of hitter in the 5 hole not the 2 hole. Gives your 4 hole protection because even if he isn't quite as good as your 4 hole teams dont wanna pitch around the 4 hole to put guys in base for him.

Dude was knocking the cover off the ball in the spring and fall scrimmages that I attended. Maybe he had a deer in the headlights moment this past weekend at the plate.

Scroggins, Campbell, Noland named the starting rotation for USC

This should be an interesting lineup.
If Cody’s slider is working he could go 4 innings.

Hopefully Thursday we get a few guys to piece together the 9 innings.

Right, I imagine we are going to see quite a few pitchers get quality innings.

I'd think since Kopps didn't pitch over the weekend that DVH will probably start him against Memphis. He might get an inning in relief against USC.
