I believe the candy abstinence, I myself eat maybe a single pack of sour straws every few months. Some people just don't do candy. That said I do eat way too much taco bell as compensation.

I haven't had a soft drink since July. I don't eat candy either, but, damnit, if someone puts out some fresh no bake cookies then I'll be all over it. Those are my biggest weakness.

Made a big batch of homemade (none of that instant pudding crap) and have it sitting for a few mins...

I'd have to agree with the fact that they're not groceries, so I'm ok with the tax increase. Candy and soda are one of thr few food items tbat have tax at grocery stores in Texas, groceries are tax free in Texas which is how it should be everywhere.
