Michael Taylor was behind Agim on the latest depth chart I have at SDE.

Edit: after reading that from SEC Country - perhaps Gabe Richardson

Apparently gabe Richardson has come along enough at DE that they felt like they could move agim inside.

Seems our philosophy will be like grinch used at Wazzu. We will play the most athletic, and explosive guys instead of the biggest/strongest who are much slower. I am 100% in favor of this. Ramsey will get ate up in the run game in theory, but grinch's undersized athletic group would actually just split the gaps with their explosiveness and would blow plays up.

I wish bell would hurry up, and become the guy he was supposed to be. He is an athletic freak who could be a stud pass rusher.

Not naming a QB this spring so expect no transfer coming there before summer camp.

It rained nearly the entire scrimmage. Morris said he was really disappointed it wasn’t raining harder. “I was really hoping for a downpour to see how our guys responded. There was absolutely no way we were going indoors.”

Morris says close to 850 high school coaches have been on campus this spring. “We welcome them every day. We opened our doors and say, ‘Come on, we’re going to talk ball.’ We’ve got some that come back every day and some that are coming once a week.”

really liking this mindset

Agim playing the 3 technique inside as long as he doesn’t balloon up to 300 pounds
Agim could be used as a Philon type of interior defensive linemen instead of trying to stack weight on him.

Not seeing Richardson at nickel is odd, but I am assuming he is starting nickel in pure pass situations, or when the personnel fits the situation better.

I am so glad with the defensive change we are doing.

I felt under the last staff that Derrick munson (the first guy to commit in 2016) would have never seen the field except special teams. Until I started seeing hints of this change, I had him pegged as a transfer candidate. The dude is fast as hell for his size, but is legit undersized for a LB, but is not quite the athlete to play safety. It seems we have decided to use a 4-2-5 defensive scheme, but the nickel is actually a star/jack lb. A safety/lb hybrid. Like what we had under petrino with Jericho nelson

Either way this first munson perfectly. Bert was too stubborn to ever try this defense. He only ran ancient base 4-3 or 3-4. This is the defense of the future. We need this type of defense to match up with these new spread offenses. We have moved that McClure kid to this position, and 1 other. We actually have a 3 deep playing this spot and I could not be more excited about it. We are going to Match up against these new offenses so much better.

Here is another example of bert recruiting guys, and not adjusting his system to fit his players. He recruited 300- 315 lb o line guys who weren't mailers and tried to keep the same offense. He recruited what seems to be now 3 guys who's natural position is this hybrid player (that tons of teams are searching for and have a hard time finding at times) to stop these spread offenses, and they would have rode the bench instead of helping this team.

The defense was at its best in a 3-2-6 alignment (3 linemen, 2 linebackers and 6 defensive backs).

I wish Brandon Martin would stay healthy, and be the freak he is supposed to be.

basically throw all your speed on the field at once. however it leaves the ability for the other team to run you over if they mix personnel right.

Could go down as the biggest waste of talent to ever go through Arkansas after he gets to the pros, and is used correctly.

Jason Peters was a fricking tight end for us.

Peters had 27 receptions, 288 yards and 4 TDs in collegiate career. Left early to go undrafted and is still playing 14 years later.

Agim in two years under the passive afraid to make a mistake philosophy has 64 tackles, 13 TFL, 5 sacks, 2 FF.

I stand corrected I blocked that out of my memory. Doesn't mean I still don't think we should have gotten more out of agim, but it's not his fault he doesn't have another flowers/Philon to pull some pressure off him.
