Arkansas' Class of 2025 grew to 23 verbal commitments on Tuesday when Chico (Calif.) Pleasant Valley tight end Gavin Garretson went public with his college decision. Garretson, 6-7, 240, de-committed from San Diego State just before announcing in favor of the Hogs, and just one day after wrapping up an official visit in Fayetteville (Ark.).

Garretson, who has an older brother already playing at SDSU, was recruited to Arkansas by tight ends coach Morgan Turner and assistant quarterbacks coach Miles Fishback, a fellow Chico native. The Razorbacks joined Garretson's offer list in early October and got him on campus last Saturday for the start of his red-carpet treatment.

"My favorite part of the visit was definitely the people of Fayetteville," Garretson told HawgSports in his post-visit interview. "I felt everywhere I went I was surrounded by good people. I've never seen a town, much less a state, that lives for a college.

"Definitely going to need to have a few conversations with my family and coaches about what's going to happen next now."

According to 247Sports, Garretson is a three-star prospect who ranks 114th at his position -- he was evaluated as a defensive end -- and 125th overall in the state of California. Arkansas currently has 22 commitments and ranks 29th in the country for the Class of 2025.

Through the first six games this season, he recorded 192 receiving yards and two touchdowns on offense, and 30 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, 7 sacks and 7 quarterback hurries from his defensive end position. The Razorbacks are recruiting Garretson to play offense though he certainly could get a look on defense if it doesn't work out.

With a tight end spot now filled for this cycle, Arkansas is up to 23 total commitments for the Class of 2025, including nine on the offensive side in three-star quarterback Grayson Wilson of Conway (Ark.), three-star athlete Quentin Murphy of Little Rock (Ark.) Parkview, three-star running back Markeylin Batton of Atlanta (Texas), three-star wide receiver Antonio Jordan, three-star wide receiver Kamare Williams of West Palm Beach (Fla.) Central, three-star offensive lineman Connor Howes of St. Could (Fla.), three-star offensive lineman Lionel Prudhomme of Shreveport (La.) Captain Shreve, three-star offensive lineman Kash Courtney of Carthage (Texas), and three-star offensive lineman Blake Cherry of Owasso (Okla.).

The Razorbacks also have defensive commitments from four-star linebacker Tavion Wallace of Jesup (Ga.) Wayne County, three-star defensive lineman Kevin Oatis of Hattiesburg (Miss.), three-star linebacker Jayden Shelton of Dallas (Texas) South Oak Cliff, three-star defensive end Keiundre Johnson of Terrell (Texas), three-star defensive end Reginald Vaughn of Madison (Miss.) Hartfield Academy, three-star defensive tackle JaQuentin Madison of Alpharetta (Ga.), three-star defensive end Trent Sellers of Mobile (Ala.) Faith Academy, three-star defensive lineman Caleb Bell of Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton, three-star cornerback Nigel Pringle of Houston (Texas) North Shore, and three-star safety Taijh Overton of Mobile (Ala.) Williamson.

Fresh off an official visit to Arkansas over the weekend, 2025 two-star tight end Gavin Garretson announced his commitment to the Razorbacks on Tuesday morning.

Garretson had been committed to San Diego State, but reopened his recruitment Monday evening after he watched the Razorbacks take on the LSU Tigers.

A 6-foot-7, 240-pound athlete out of Pleasant Valley High School in Chico, California, Garretson holds offers from California, San Diego State, Idaho, New Mexico State and others.

Through six games as a senior for Pleasant Valley, Garretson has hauled in nine passes for 172 yards and two touchdowns. As a junior, he snatched 20 passes for 312 yards and five touchdowns in 14 games.

Garretson's commitment brings Arkansas to 23 in the class of 2025, and he is the first tight end to join the Razorbacks in the class.

Hutchinson Community College offensive tackle Carmarion "Bubba" Craig announced his commitment to Arkansas on Saturday. HawgBeat can confirm that Craig will be on full scholarship.

Craig's announcement came soon after the Hogs' 20-10 loss to Texas at Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville. He is the second junior college (JUCO) player in Arkansas' 2025 recruiting class, which now features five offensive linemen.

Craig is listed as a 6-foot-6, 312-pound redshirt freshman on the Hutchinson C.C. website. He is originally out of Concordia Lutheran High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Hutchinson C.C. gained Craig's commitment back on Jan. 26, 2023. He's reported other offers from UTSA, Liberty, UMass, Temple, Texas State, Western Kentucky, Utah State and Troy.

Arkansas' class is back up to 23 commitments for the Class of 2025 after landing JUCO offensive lineman Bubba Craig of Hutchinson Community College on Saturday afternoon. Craig, 6-8, 320, went public with his decision approximately an hour after the Razorbacks' 20-10 loss to the No. 3 Texas Longhorns, who posted six sacks and nine tackles for loss in the contest.

Craig, who visited Fayetteville two weekends ago for the Hogs' loss to Ole Miss, chose Arkansas over scholarship offers from Liberty, UTSA, Temple, Texas State, Western Kentucky and UMASS. The Fort Wayne (Ind.) native is 247Sports' No. 26 overall JUCO prospect and a three-star recruit who ranks first overall among all interior offensive linemen for the Class of 2025.

Craig, currently listed as a redshirt-freshman, is expected to sign with the Razorbacks in early December and enroll at the UA in January. The Hogs already have four other offensive linemen committed for the Class of 2025 in prep recruits Connor Howes, Kash Courtney, Blake Cherry, and Lionel Prudhomme, the only one of the now five O-line commits who will not enroll at midterm.

Arkansas is also still in the mix for a potential flip of TCU three-star offensive line commit Logan Schram of Boerne (Texas). Schram visited the Hogs in June and remains a target of note down the final stretch.

The Razorbacks now have 23 verbal commitments after gaining Craig and losing kicker Evan Noel last week to the Florida Gators. Arkansas' class ranks 29th overall and 13th in the SEC.

The Arkansas Razorbacks lost 247Sports' No. 1 kicker earlier this month but have replaced him by flipping Iowa commit Scott Starzyk, the nation's top kicker according to Kohl's Kicking.

Starzyk, 5-10, 160, is a product of The Woodlands (Texas) who committed to the Hawkeyes on July 18. He chose Iowa over scholarship offers from Michigan, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Syracuse, Memphis and others. 247Sports considers him a three-star prospect and the No. 6 kicker in the country.

Arkansas jumped into the picture for Starzyk in early November when Evan Noel flipped his pledge from the Razorbacks to the Florida Gators, ending a commitment that lasted more than a calendar year and leaving the Hogs in a pinch to find a replacement with just weeks to go before National Signing Day.

The kicker position is seen as an important one for the Razorbacks, who have missed seven field goal attempts through the first 11 games.

Starzyk's commitment lifts Arkansas' team total .52 points, keeping the Razorbacks at 31st nationally and at 15th in the SEC.

Starzyk brings Arkansas' commitment total to 24 for the Class of 2025.

The Razorbacks' 12 offensive commitments include Conway (Ark.) quarterback Grayson Wilson, Atlanta (Texas) running back Markeylin Batton, Little Rock (Ark.) Parkview running back Cameron Settles, Parkview athlete Quentin Murphy, Warren (Ark.) wide receiver Antonio Jordan, West Palm Beach (Fla.) Central wide receiver Kamare Williams, Chico (Calif.) Pleasant Valley tight end Gavin Garretson, Owasso (Okla.) offensive lineman Blake Cherry, Carthage (Texas) offensive lineman Kash Courtney, Kissimmee (Fla.) Osceola offensive lineman Connor Howes, Shreveport (La.) Captain Shreve offensive lineman Lionel Prudhomme, and Hutchinson (Kan.) Hutchinson C.C. offensive lineman Bubba Craig.

The other defensive commitments include Hattiesburg (Miss.) defensive lineman Kevin Oatis, Flowood (Miss.) Hartfield Academy defensive lineman Reginald Vaughn, Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton defensive lineman Caleb Bell, Alpharetta (Ga.) defensive lineman JaQuentin Madison, Terrell (Texas) offensive lineman Keiundre Johnson, Baxley (Ga.) Appling County linebacker Tavion Wallace, Dallas (Texas) South Oak Cliff linebacker Jayden Shelton, Scooba (Miss.) EMCC defensive back Shannon Blair, Houston (Texas) North Shore defensive back Nigel Pringle, and Mobile (Ala.) Williamson safety Taijh Overton.

The early national signing period begins Wednesday, December 4 and runs through Friday, December 6. As usual, Pittman and the Hogs expect most, if not all, of the current verbal commitments to make it official by signing during the early signing period.

With six wins now clinched, the Razorbacks will immediately begin bowl prep on the same week of national signing day. The Hogs will then hit the portal when the transfer window opens on December 9. Arkansas is expected to make a run at offensive and defensive linemen, wide receivers and defensive backs.

Arkansas landed its potential kicker of the future Tuesday with a commitment from 2025 kicker Scott Starzyk out of The Woodlands, Texas.

Starzyk was formerly committed to Iowa before he de-committed Monday. He replaces former commit Evan Noel, who flipped to Florida on Nov. 11.

Current kickers Matthew Shipley and Kyle Ramsey, who have both started at times this season, are both out of eligibility after this year.

Kohl's Professional Camps list Starzyk as a five-star and the No. 1 kicker in the nation for the 2025 class.

“At Kohl's National Scholarship Camp in July of 2023 he showed great improvement in punting and kicking,” according to the Khol’s Kicking website. “His punt score of 108.74 points, kick-off score of 109.82 points, and field goal score of 31 were all at the D1 level. We are so excited for Starzyk's future! At the March Ranking Event, he graded out in the top 10 as both a kicker and punter. His kick-offs and punt distances were different compared to the other campers on the windy day.

“He was able to kick multiple 80 yard kick-offs. At the Texas Showcase in May of 2022 he had a perfect charting of field goals at the event with 11 points made out of 11 and hit multiple 69+ yard kickoffs with over 3.8 seconds of hang time. His punting was also at the elite level with a 50-yard, 4.78 second hang time hit during the charting portion of camp. Starzyk is one of the most talented specialists in the 2025 class and we expect big things from him in college.”

The 2025 recruiting class for Arkansas is nearing completion, if it isn’t already finished. The class features 24 commitments and it ranked 28th nationally on Rivals before Starzyk’s pledge.

JUCO DB Shannon Blair decommits on the final hours of NSD eve.

With the early signing period beginning Wednesday morning, Arkansas' class is down to 22 commitments for the Class of 2025 following a de-commitment from JUCO cornerback Shannon Blair late Tuesday evening.

Blair, a 6-1, 190, bounce-back from Tennessee, initially committed to the Hogs on August 3. He made an official visit two weekends ago in Fayetteville, but there had been some questioning about when he'd be able to officially enroll and join the team. Blair did make an official visit at Michigan State during the season, too, however.

Blair was recently evaluated as the No. 2 cornerback in the junior college ranks, per 247Sports. Losing Blair gives the Razorbacks their second de-commitment in as many days, as defensive lineman Ja'Quinten Madison and the Hogs mutually parted ways on Monday.

Arkansas has landed a Signing Day commitment from Class of 2025 wide receiver Ja'kayden Ferguson, a heavily-offered three-star prospect from Fort Bend Marshall in Missouri City (Texas).

Ferguson, a Kentucky commit from June to November, went public with his decision on Wednesday, the first of the three-day early signing period. The Razorbacks initially offered the 6-2, 175-pound receiver in December of 2022, and current wide receivers coach Ronnie Fouch re-offered again in early February.

From there, Ferguson continued to add impressive new offers through the spring, including one from Alabama in late March. His list also included Oregon, Tennessee, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, Miami, Ole Miss, Texas Tech and others.

Ferguson joins a wide receiver class that already included a trio of three-stars in Quentin Murphy of Little Rock (Ark.) Parkview, Antonio Jordan of Warren (Ark.), and Kamare Williams of Delray Beach (Fla.) Palm Beach Central. The Razorbacks are still in the running for more receivers in the high school class of 2025, and they're preparing to make noise with what they hope will be a major transfer class at the position.

The Razorbacks' 12 offensive commitments include Conway (Ark.) quarterback Grayson Wilson, Atlanta (Texas) running back Markeylin Batton, Little Rock (Ark.) Parkview running back Cameron Settles, Parkview athlete Quentin Murphy, Warren (Ark.) wide receiver Antonio Jordan, West Palm Beach (Fla.) Central wide receiver Kamare Williams, Chico (Calif.) Arkansas is expected to make a run at offensive and defensive linemen, wide receivers and defensive backs.

On National Signing Day, Arkansas receivers coach Ronnie Fouch and the Razorbacks added a new member to their 2025 recruiting class.

"Coach Fouch, man, he stayed on me," Ferguson told Rivals. "I've got a lot of trust for him and they were there from the beginning. I have huge love for Arkansas and the staff."

Despite never visiting Arkansas before, four-star wide receiver Ja’kayden Ferguson signed with the Razorbacks, making him the fourth receiver in the class. He joins Warren (Ark.) native Antonio Jordan, Florida’s Kamare Williams and in-state Parkview athlete Quentin Murphy, who is expected to play wide receiver.

A 6-foot-3, 175-pound wideout, Ferguson was previously committed to Kentucky but decommitted Nov. 13th. Arkansas extended an offer to Ferguson on Feb. 2nd, and once he reopened his recruitment, the Razorbacks pursued him aggressively, along with LSU. On Wednesday, Ferguson made it official by choosing Arkansas.

He joins a recruiting class ranked 29th nationally and 14th in the SEC before his pledge. Ferguson’s commitment brings the Razorbacks’ total to 23, with 17 of those players signed. The remaining commitments include Kevin Oats, Caleb Bell, Connor Howes, Jayden Shelton, Markeylin Batton and fellow wideout Kamare Williams.

Ferguson had an impressive senior season at Fort Bend Marshall, as he earned a nomination to the final ballot of the 2024 Whataburger Super Team. He’s up for the honor alongside five-star Dakorien Moore and several other standout wide receivers from Texas.

Florida WR Kamare Williams flips to Louisville.

It's expected Florida OL Connor Howes will flip to Ole Miss.

RB Markeylin Batton of Atlanta, Texas is the only unsigned commit as of now and we still could add another player.

Is that why we picked up the receiver from Missouri City? Are we planning to go after any offensive lineman in the portal? Or any young lineman expected to push for PT next year?

4:15 p.m.: Arkansas crushes UCLA with pair of flips

Arkansas pulled off a Signing Day stunner by flipping a pair of notable recruits from UCLA on Wednesday, including four-star quarterback Madden Iamaleava and borderline four-star receiver Jace Brown of Long Beach (Calif.) Poly. Iamaleava, 6-2, 200, is the nation's No. 19 quarterback in the country according to 247Sports, which also lists him as the No. 25 overall prospect in California for the Class of 2025.

There have been some surprises on this signing day, but maybe none bigger than four-star UCLA quarterback commit Madden Iamaleava flipping his pledge to UCLA.

Prior to today, the Razorbacks didn’t seem to be a factor in his recruitment. But he visited for the team’s game against Tennessee, according to On3’s Steve Wiltfong. And now he joins up with Sam Pittman and Co. as they look to turn their fortunes around in 2025.

Head coach Sam Pittman and the Arkansas Razorbacks successfully flipped and signed a highly-regarded 2025 UCLA quarterback commit Wednesday afternoon.

Dual-threat four-star signal caller Madden Iamaleava — the younger brother of former five-star and current Tennessee starting quarterback Nico Iamaleava — will be joining the Hogs as a member of the 2025 recruiting class.

A native of California, the 6-foot-2, 191-pounder received offers from programs like Auburn, Colorado, Georgia Tech, Miami, Ole Miss, Oregon, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State and others before landing with the Razorbacks.

According to MaxPreps, Iamaleava completed 196-of-311 passes for 3,626 yards, 43 touchdowns and just four interceptions as a junior in 2023 for Warren High School. He also rushed for 305 yards and three scores on 78 carries.

Iamaleava attempted to transfer to Long Beach Poly High School after playing in the opener for Warren High School to start the 2024 season, but was denied eligibility by the California Interscholastic Federation. Because of this, he was unable to play football the rest of his senior year.

Following Iamaleava's signing, the Razorbacks' 2025 recruiting class now sits with 23 members, 21 of which have signed. The only remaining commitments are three-star athlete Markeylin Batton and three-star offensive lineman Connor Howes.

Arkansas has dipped into UCLA's 2025 recruiting class for the second time Wednesday, as three-star pass-catcher Jace Brown announced his commitment to the Razorbacks.

A 6-foot-2, 194-pound native of California, Brown joins fellow high school teammate and quarterback Madden Iamaleava in flipping to Arkansas.

Though Brown is listed as a tight end by Rivals, his smaller stature gives him the versatility to play wide receiver for Bobby Petrino's unit.

Brown was offered by programs like Arizona, Notre Dame, Utah, Washington State and others before landing with the Hogs.

Following Brown's signing, the Razorbacks' 2025 recruiting class now sits with 23 members, 21 of which have signed. The only remaining commitments are three-star athlete Markeylin Batton and three-star offensive lineman Connor Howes.

Iamaleava is the younger brother of former five-star and Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava. Madden was recruited under the radar to Fayetteville by offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino and wide receivers coach Ronnie Fouch.

Brown changed his commitment following a late push from Fouch, who has plenty of spots to fill this offseason at wide receiver as the Razorbacks are expected to lose several, including the SEC's leader in catches and yards, Andrew Armstrong. Fouch has other incoming high school receivers in Quentin Murphy of Little Rock (Ark.) Parkview, Antonio Jordan of Warren (Ark.), and Ja'kayden Ferguson of Missouri City (Texas) Marshall.

The Razorbacks' 13 offensive commitments include Conway (Ark.) quarterback Grayson Wilson, Atlanta (Texas) running back Markeylin Batton, Little Rock (Ark.) Parkview running back Cameron Settles, Parkview athlete Quentin Murphy, Warren (Ark.) wide receiver Antonio Jordan, West Palm Beach (Fla.) Central wide receiver Kamare Williams, Chico (Calif.) Arkansas entered the early signing period ranked 31st nationally and 15th in the SEC.

The Hogs will then hit the portal when the transfer window opens on December 9 (and runs through Dec. 28). Arkansas is expected to make a run at offensive and defensive linemen, wide receivers and defensive backs.
