Bossi’s take: Xavier Pinson may not be the most efficient guard in America, but he is a dynamic athlete with an electric first step. Put this guy into ball screens and watch him explode to the basket. Also, while he’s not your classic jump shooter, he knocks home enough from deep (33.6% as a junior, 40% as a freshman) that you have to be aware of how you are going to cover him defensively.

A late bloomer from Chicago, Pinson is still filling out physically and likely has another level that he could take his game to if he picks the right situation. He announced a final four of Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia and Nebraska and buzz has been that he could find his way to Fayetteville. But, in the portal things move fast and nothing is certain especially after Chris Lykes from Miami committed to the Hogs on Wednesday.

10. CHRISTIAN BISHOP, F, CREIGHTON

2020-21 stats: 11.0 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game.

Bossi’s take: A bit of a late bloomer during his high school years in suburban Kansas City, Christian Bishop figured to be a four man with skill and athleticism at Creighton. He certainly flashed his athleticism during three years in the Big East while adding to his lean frame, but in Creighton’s offense he played the role of undersized five man who ran the floor, finished lobs, rebounded and blocked shots.

One of the most efficient finishers in the country, he could have two years of eligibility thanks to the NCAA’s freebie year policy and that makes him even more attractive. He’s already been successful for a high-level program so it’s no surprise that Arkansas, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Texas A&M, Wake Forest and more have looked to get involved.

Bossi’s take: A native of Texas, Stanley Umude has the look of somebody who can step in and put up legitimate numbers for a competitor next season. He’s strong enough to play as a small ball four, has wing skills and boasts years of proven production

He’s one who seems to be nearing a decision. Arizona, Arkansas and Kansas have been the programs generating the most buzz of late.

2020-21 stats: 18.1 points, 6.1 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game.

Bossi’s take: The player of the year in the MAC, Marreon Jackson is all set to announce his next destination on Friday. Arkansas, Arizona State, Georgetown and Miami are all justifiably hoping that he picks them.

His experience and production are undeniable, plus he plays with a toughness that has to be appreciated. There’s no reason to think that he can’t walk onto campus at any of those programs and be a leader.
