I doubt some of these players are one and done. More like two and done.

5* Ian Jackson arrived last night for his last junior year official visit for the Bama game tonight. He recently visited UNC.
4* Dink Pate also is visiting for the Bama game unofficially.

Ian Jackson, the No. 3 player in the updated 2024 On3 150, will take his fifth and final junior year official visit to Arkansas this week. I was told the plan is for the five-star to arrive on campus Tuesday. He should also be in Fayetteville on Wednesday as the Razorbacks host Alabama in a top-25 matchup.
The 6-foot-5 guard led the u17 USA Basketball team in scoring this summer with 11.9 points. They won the FIBA gold medal. This was coming off a summer where he played up in grade on the u17 Adidas 3SSB Circuit. Jackson averaged 16.2 points and 3.8 assists while shooting 54.4 percent from the field with his Wiz Kids organization.
Jackson has already taken four junior year official visits, Kentucky on October 15, Oregon on October 22, LSU on November 5, and UNC on January 6.
quote:
“I want to go to a place that feels like home,” Ian Jackson previously told On3. “A place that treats me like family, and I’m comfortable being there. I want to go to the NBA, so wherever I feel most comfortable will help me get to the NBA.”

Elijah Moore, a four-star shooting guard in the class of 2024, has narrowed his list of offers down to five schools: Alabama, Arkansas, Miami, Oklahoma State, and Syracuse.
The 6-foot-3, 170-pound prospect out of the Bronx (NY) Cardinal Hayes has taken official visits to Syracuse and Oklahoma State. Moore also plans to take an official visit to Alabama later this month, with the target date being January 24th. Nothing is set in stone yet.
In addition to the five schools listed among his top group, Moore also received offers from St. John’s, Illinois, Xavier, Seton Hall, UConn, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, and others.
quote:
Arkansas: “The coaching staff is amazing. They all check on me constantly. Tell me about their games and show much love. They are sending players to the league and putting their players in a position to be successful which I love.”

quote:
Labaron Philon, a four-star point guard in the 2024 class, is down to six schools: Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Kansas, Ole Miss, and Tennessee.
The 6-foot-4, 175-pound prospect out of Mobile (AL) Baker has taken one official visit to Auburn and has been to Alabama unofficially.
In addition to Philon’s six finalists, he also received offers from LSU, Missouri, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, among others.
quote:
Arkansas: “Arkansas is a school high on my list. I have a great relationship with Coach (Eric) Musselman. One of my best friends (Barry Dunning) plays there and highly recommends it.”

Labaron Philon jumped 22 spots, to No. 34, in the recent 2024 On3 150 ranking update.
Long gone are the days of the traditional point guard. The shift in the game has become more fluid in positioning. Instead of players defined by specific positions, point guard, shooting guard, small forward, etc., they are talked about as guards, forwards, and bigs. The main objective of today’s primary initiator is to be dynamic.
A player who can put consistent pressure at the point of attack on both ends of the floor is the most successful point guard in today’s game. Players who can shoot with range add an even more dynamic threat to the position. Touching the paint, making a play, and guarding the ball. A modern point guard is still tasked with taking care of the ball and keeping things flowing and players engaged. But the skill sets have morphed.
quote:
Labaron Philon is an interesting case. This high school season, the 6-foot-4 guard is averaging 36.6 points. For his two-and-a-half-year high school career, the Mobile (AL) Baker High junior has scored 1,991 points. Many of the conversations, maybe questions is a more accurate word, you hear about Philon revolve around the level of competition he plays.
Philon has an excellent frame, one you can project taking well to a college strength and conditioning program. He is quick off the bounce with an electric first step. While he will need to continue adding weight, as most 17-year-olds do, he has great length to pair with his burst.
Philon played with the Nightrydas program on Nike’s EYBL 16u Circuit this summer. He averaged 3.4 assists and 1.4 steals during Peach Jam as the primary initiator, leading his team to the quarterfinals of the championship bracket. He had a 48.1 effective shooting percentage and finished 66.7 percent at the rim.
Philon showcased a crafty handle that got him into the paint often. He played under control and on balance showing decision-making upside. The four-star efficiently ran his team while maintaining his threat to score the ball.
The totality of Philon’s game is where the intrigue lies. He has put together absurdly productive numbers in high school. He also showed he could win at a high level, leading his travel team on a run during Peach Jam. There is a clear upside here, with his frame and athleticism. Add in the production under multiple settings, in different roles, and the intrigue of Labaron Philon is clear.
quote:
Labaron Philon announced earlier this week he is down to six schools: Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Kansas, Ole Miss, and Tennessee. Philon has taken one official visit to Auburn and has been to Alabama unofficially.

Arkansas: "I really like coach Musselman's energy, they also have two guys from Dallas in Anthony Black and Jordan Walsh. I grew up watching those guys play so it's cool to see them on the big screen playing for Arkansas."

Arkansas: “Arkansas and Michigan were the last two to offer me. They’ve shown me a lot of love and have given me feedback on my game, and I really like that. Coach Muss (Eric Musselman) and coach (Ronnie) Brewer are the main ones.”
Upcoming plans: “I don’t have any visits planned, I’m just focused on this season right now. As the summer comes, I’d love to take visits. I’m for sure going to take my time because I’m just focused on the high school season and trying to win a GEICO Championship. I’ll take some visits in the summer and cut it down from there.”
LINK
quote:
Arkansas: "Arkansas made the list because they've done a great job of recruiting me and taking to me. They made me a priority over there and coach Musselman I talk to a couple of times a week. The way they play Anthony Black is how they compare me to coming in to do what he is doing. They showed up to practice and overall I just have a good relationship with them."

quote:
ARKANSAS -- “Coach [Eric Musselman] and that staff is really amazing. They do a good job of recruiting me. They kind of refer to me as possibly being the next Anthony Black for them. Another thing that’s big for me is the style of play and just how much I like Coach Muss. I like him as a person and I like the style of play he teaches.”

Trentyn Flowers, one of the top-ranked wings in the class of 2024, is down to six schools: Alabama, Arkansas, Creighton, Louisville, North Carolina, and Kansas.
The 6-foot-8, 180-pound prospect playing at Lincolnton (NC) Combine Academy has taken official visits to Creighton and Louisville. North Carolina hosted him unofficially. As of this writing, Flowers has not scheduled any other visits.
In addition to the five schools listed among his top group, Flowers also considered Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, Florida State, Oregon, Georgetown, Georgia State, and others.
quote:
Arkansas: “I’m hearing from Arkansas a lot. Coach Muss has reached out to me personally. He’s a great dude. The way they’re playing Anthony Black, he and I are kind of similar. That’s how coach Muss sees me coming in and playing. It’s a good fit too. I might take an official visit there during my senior year.”
quote:
“Really, I’m just going to be looking for a place that I can be myself on and off the court,” Trentyn Flowers said. “A home away from home, and a place where my game will fit best with their style.
“I’m going to look at the style of play and how each program plays a guy like me. That is why I’m taking the visits I am, to get a closer look at that. I want to play fast, but also for a coach that will use my versatility; allow me to play on and off the ball.”

Conversely, future Texas Longhorn Ron Holland could be the best two-way forward in the country. He plays with a high-motor and is one of the most versatile defenders in the class. We’re also seeing the expansion of his skill-set as his offensive versatility is starting to catch up. He’s jumped up to the No. 6 player in the class as a result.

Probably UNC bound. It wouldn't surprise me in the least.

WE WON’T UPDATE 2024 UNTIL FEBRUARY, BUT THERE’S A LOT OF ACTION IN THAT CLASS. WHICH JUNIOR’S RECRUTIMENT DO YOU FIND MOST INTRIGUING RIGHT NOW?
quote:
Cassidy: I think Ian Jackson is the obvious answer here, as things have heated up with him in recent weeks. The five-star guard has taken a pair of official visits this month, touring both Arkansas and North Carolina and now rumors that a commitment could come in the very near future have started to swirl. Adding intrigue to Jackson’s recruitment are the whispers of a possible reclassification to 2023. Kentucky was once seen as the clear leader to land the New York based star, but things on that front look far less certain now with the Wildcats off to a slow start and the fan base getting antsy with John Calipari, who has not won an NCAA Tournament game since 2019. UNC seems to be in a great spot as things stand, but, as always, things are subject to change.
Graf: I’ll go with Dink Pate here. The 6-foot-7 guard has offers from seemingly half the country at this point and leads a very busy recruitment. He wants to go somewhere that will utilize his ball skills and put the ball in his hands at the point guard spot. A lot of schools will be reluctant to do that at his size, which will narrow the list down over time. Georgetown has been on him hard for a long time and Arkansas has come on strong, with Pate just recently wrapping up a visit there. The Razorbacks have shown that they’ll put the ball in Anthony Black’s hands this season, who is another guard with size. The professional routes will also be on the table for the five-star guard.

They lost to Link last night in the title game. Blocker all tournament team with 13ppg.
It's a shame that Link pipeline didn't take off, they are far more loaded this year than last.
