Four-star guard Kingston Flemings will likely land at a Texas-based program, as buzz suggests Texas and Houston are the main players to land his pledge, with the Cougars holding an edge at the moment. Things can change on a dime in recruiting, however, so Flemings’ September official visit to Houston is shaping up as a pivotal moment to say the very least, as it could be a deal-sealing trip.
Flemings is also considering Gonzaga, Texas Tech and Arkansas in addition to the Longhorns and Cougars. John Calipari’s Razorbacks actually once seemed to be a part of the front-runners in the Flemings sweepstakes, but a source recently told Rivals that a commitment to Arkansas feels unlikely because of how the Razorbacks' roster construction for the 2025 season is shaping up.

Arkansas has long been among the front-runners to land five-star guard Meleek Thomas, and last week's visit seems to have solidified the Razorbacks’ position as one of, if not the, most likely landing spot for the Pittsburgh native.
Thomas recently canceled a visit to Alabama. As of now, a visit to Kansas State remains on the schedule for Oct. 26, but the future of that trip seemed a little up in the air as of Sunday afternoon. A cancellation would be extremely positive news for Arkansas fans, as K-State has the financial support and relationships in place to become a threat.
Should Thomas set foot in Manhattan as scheduled, there could be some white knuckle moments in Fayetteville. If not, it might be time for celebration in the Hawgs' recruiting office.

DUKE, LOUISVILLE AND ARKANSAS TANGLED UP WITH PROFILE WINGS
Five-star prospects Nate Ament and Shelton Henderson are among the top small forwards in the country, and both remain uncommitted for the time being. The other thing the duo has in common is the fact that both Duke and Louisville remain involved with each.
That said, these dominoes seem ready to fall. It’s unlikely that the Blue Devils land both Ament and Henderson, so one of the two choosing Duke would almost certainly impact the other’s decision. Arkansas is seen as the most serious threat to snatch Ament away from Duke and would like to be the beneficiary if Henderson lands in Durham before Ament makes his choice.
Meanwhile, Louisville (and possibly Texas) stands to benefit if Ament makes the call for Duke before Henderson settles on a landing place.
There are no coincidences in recruiting after all, and the processes of Ament and Henderson seem to get more intensely intertwined with each passing week. As of now, Duke and Arkansas seem like the more likely landing places for Ament, leaving Henderson as the likely best case scenario for the Cardinals should things break correctly. What is beginning to look set-in-stone, however, is the fact that one of Duke, Louisville or Arkansas will be the odd man out when the music stops and the game of small forward musical chairs suddenly ends in the coming weeks.
