I made a little comment about this being great to see after the disappointment in the finals and this somehow turned into me saying last year wasn't a fantastic season, which was never close to implied.

Putting a laughing emote doesn't make it any less defensive. Insinuating I implied something that you never said is defending yourself. That's the very definition of defensive.

Putting a laughing emote normally implies a lack of seriousness. That is the reason I often include them and why I mentioned them. It helps to provide context. Regardless, this has gotten way off-topic so I'll move on.
