basically saying teams that have shite the bed year after year (us) could potentially be booted out. I hope it never happens, but I’m glad it’s being talked about. The one thing that the pieces of shite who are in charge on the hill care about is money, and being kicked out of the sec would be killing their golden goose. Maybe with this threat over their heads they’ll realize we actually need to be able to compete and will prioritize it for a change.

The Basketball program will keep us around. I'd be worried if I was Vandy or South Carolina.

I’m pretty sure we still have one of the highest grossing athletics program. But through ticket sales, apparel, etc… we also travel well. They aren’t kicking us out. They aren’t kicking anyone out who is top 50 in that area.

We are somewhere around 26 in terms of gross revenue for the entire athletic department.

They will not be taking 50 if a split occurs.

Probably be 40-64… they will still want everyone from all 4 corners of the US to watch. Do we aren’t in a worry.

If schools like Texas Ohio St Alabama USC are behind a split, they will not be taking 40 schools with them. There is very clearly a tier 1 in regards to brand value and UofA is not in that group.

Frankly it doesn’t matter what happens on the field. Arkansas will be left out in the new landscape because it’s Alumni base and state population are too poor.

Not enough are going to watch a 16 team super league. It will be 60ish teams.

These TV contracts are for the rights to show the tier 1 teams not UofA or Miss State.

The tier 1 schools and tv networks have an incentive to consolidate. And they will.

I will say they’ll need more than 20 teams for their new league. The nfl has 32 so I would guess the super league would have at least that many, but most likely more

Arkansas will make the cut due to our ratings. You never see us mentioned in the commentary around this. It’s schools like State and Vandy that would most likely get the boot.

The NFL is substantially more popular than college football and they have determined 32 teams is the right amount to prevent any saturation.

The teams with real leverage will not split revenue with UofA nor do the networks care to carry UofA games.

It take us five games to get 5MM viewers. Bama does that in one.
