Any more details on the shooting of suspect yesterday in Springdale?

Man on scooter pulled over by cops, scooter boy fires at officers and they killed him. That's the word, no name released yet on dead guy

SPRINGDALE, Ark. —Springdale Police said a man was killed in an officer-involved shooting Tuesday night.

Around 10:36 pm, two officers with the Springdale Police Department made a traffic stop when a man was driving a scooter near the intersection of Turner and Gates.

After stopping, the man on the scooter produced a pistol and fired at the officers.

The officers returned fire hitting the man.

The officers requested an ambulance, and the man was transported to Northwest Medical Center in Springdale where he was later pronounced deceased.

The name of the victim is being withheld until officer reach his next of kin.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office is investigating.

I personally know one of the officers, have since college. He's a good guy, I feel for him having to go through this even if it is part of the job.

If someone tried to kill me for no reason and I was somehow able to kill them instead,

the only thing I would be sad about was that I couldn't pay $300 to have his head stuffed and mounted on my wall.
