Not a different situation in terms of the mindset of the player. Philon wanted to play for Alabama. Period. Alabama shafted him and he went to Arkansas as a 2nd choice. He was never full hog.
Yeah I mean if you want to ignore all the totally valid and relevant differences I pointed out, then you're right, it's exactly the same.

edit: It sucks that his talent got wasted on the bench at Alabama, and he probably could have been a good player for us, but that ship has sailed.

If a Razorback Coach ever wants to shore up instate recruiting, he wouldn't unsay it, he would say it then stick too it.

Let kids know that the UofA isn't their parachute for fallen dreams elsewhere.

Others will see this.

Choices become hard because "well, I can always come back if it doesn't work out" is no longer an option.

Always laughable. I was called a fool for having a source closer than any other that said he told KJ and Grag to stay away from TTown A duece says the DL who didn't listen to him will wish he had in the long run

This is exactly the way to play it if you wish to improve your close percentage on in-state recruits going forward.

These guys generally only transfer when they aren't cutting it at the school they chose. Why would Arkansas want to come off looking inferior and desperate for SEC scraps on a player that has very little chance of improving the team over a highly regarded recruit who wants to be a Hog coming out of high school?

Sucks for Altee. We don't need him nor should Bert take him.

He had his chance to come here. He made his decision. Now he has to live with it.

Arkansas isn't a fallback plan for in state kids who can't make it out of state. We have a loaded backfield as it is.
