I’ve been saying this for years. The biggest thing that’s hurt us is the SEC TV money post expansion. We had money leverage over Ole Miss and State but the conference expansion money brought them up to the level where they could finally invest in the facilities and coaching staffs to compete at our level. They have significantly better recruiting grounds than us so that money chopped off our big advantage and essentially leveled the playing field against them.

I agree with this assessment. But when we have someone bringing in good football coaches we are still better than the Miss schools. With Mullen gone especially. Problem is we can't get out of our own way when it comes to that. Never should have fired Bobby. Bert was never a good fit. And Chad never really wanted to be here.

As in the fans or as in HY? HY hasn't said shite.

Fans. But I was making some assumptions with that HY tweet as well.

It’s even being reported on ESPN that he’s “close” to signing with Ole Miss now.

I don't understand why we always have to go after coaches represented by Sexton. He plays this game every time. With every one of them. Every single time.

And laughs all the way to the bank.

The tweet HY liked said kiffin needs to sign immediately or HY would move on.

Not sure why ppl thought that meant kiffin signed, there are two options in that tweet.

i mean, to be fair, that situation certainly seemed like a done deal, especially as far as the houston athletic department was concerned. it wasnt until booster meddling at the 11th hour caused everything to fall apart and HY being strongarmed into promoting a locally popular, under-qualified assistant from within.

something about this sounds familiar.

now, maybe Ole Miss will also blow it, but, based on history, im fairly confident few programs trip over themselves quite like Arkansas.

im still hopeful that HY got himself a top candidate locked up after the Boca trip, but im def not confident.

If you remember there was a trip west the next day. To Washington. Not saying it Leach at all, just that you would keep it on the down low by meeting at a place like that
