If you look around college baseball there aren't many "reliable" arms. Having 4 or 5 would put us up there with anybody. Even super team LSU threw out Little who didn't impress me and some Hellmer guy that got lit up yesterday. With our lineup if most of the pitching staff is just serviceable we can win a ton of games.

Game 1 was one of the more odd games we’ve had.
Used 2 pitchers in a game that went to extras, and won it by 6 runs (very nearly won 9-1).
Like someone else said, it’s almost as if DVH just turned to the dugout before the 10th and said “hey guys, what if we just score a shitload of runs now?”

He is definitely living up in the zone. With that said, if we had a shortstop worth a damn he gets out of that without giving up a run.

I gotta say, I'm ready for Slavens to graduate. He hasn't shite this year. His HR are far below and his average is really starting to dip with conference play now. As a 5th year guy, he still swings at junk all of the time.
