Our approach at the plate today was excellent. Even when Skenes was absolutely dealing we stuck with the plan, elevated his pitch count, and forced them to the pen. It just didn’t seem like we forced any at bats. Great to see in a series like this.

Conversely, LSU looked absolutely awful at the plate today. Lots of wild hacks, half swings, and check swing strikeouts. They couldn’t hit low and away to save their lives.

Probably have enough pitching left to be competitive in one game. If we win the second game I wouldn’t be surprised if we got run ruled in the third.

Yep. Smith is blown, so I bet we go kitchen sink for game 2 if it’s at all close. If you take game 2, then you just let someone like Wood or Morris start game 3 since you’d be playing with house money.

We will see what happens…but we used only two pitchers in a 10 inning game one win yesterday. I like our chances.
We need good McEntire back, locating his pitches and keeping it low and away. They’ll definitely chase out of the zone. Game 3 is likely going to be an offensive game.

We’ve won 15 straight. It’s taken more than 4 pitchers to get there. As a staff, 4.13 ERA. Every pitcher isn’t going to toss a no hitter every time they are run out.
