I would like to get another two, at least, of the men in the Nationals. I don't think we can pull off a Natty but if we can finish Top 5 that might give us some momentum going forward.

The lack of quality sprinters is going to hurt us with the women but if we dominate the distance events and other programs split the sprints among themselves we might have a shot. I think we come up just a bit short but I'd rather be going in at number 3 than number 30.

Men got another in the 400. Also, I was wrong. The SECs will count as qualifying meets as they are 2 weeks before Nationals per the rule book.

That's the good news.

The bad news is there are a few guys that are in danger of falling out of the top 16 in their event. Griffith is 14 in the 3000 and Chebosen is 16th in the 5000. Elliot is right on that bubble in the 60mH at 17. Boit is still MIA putting up an 8:08 in the 3000 against basically no one as the rest of the distance squads are using this time to recover and hopefully peak next week at conferences.

Women improve to 12 qualifiers gaining a 400 meter entrant in Tiana Wilson.

These starters suck. Long holds. Hari DQs, and just like that Arkansas might have cost them their shot. That's how close I expect the top 3 to be.

5 events in the books and at the end of day one, both squads are in 1st place with 35pts for the men and 36pts to the women respectively. Day 1 Results

Arkansas men score 4 in the heptathlon and Griffith finishes 2nd in the mile. Arkansas has a legit shot.

Women go 1,2,4 in the Mile.

Just a few more qualifiers for the Nationals. God, this could be an all time great women's track team if we had some sprinters.

The men picked up a qualifier in the Heptathlon, maybe 2. Hopefully we can hold on to all the qualifiers we had before the championships.

Is this one of those we’re dee enough to crush conference but don’t qualify many for nationals to actually make noise kind of days?

I figured as much. So now we get the obligatory touting Bucknam’s success tour on Twitter. Yay.

We actually lost qualifiers this weekend. That's the conundrum, stack the events and win conference, or try and get as many remaining qualifying times in events you missed over the season. We did the former on both squads.
