The match has ignited on a run of commits.

All four of our defensive end commits are rated a four star by at least one service. Soli and Williams are composite four stars. Not bad.

And Clay and Gregory were 2 of our earliest offers for this class I think, seems like we got our first choices.

Impressive that Clay and Gregory were the first two DE targets offered by Caldwell for this class and other two DE commits are legacies.

Give me Zimos, Burks and Miller this weekend and I’ll be a happy man.

We could end up with Myles Brooks by the end of the weekend too. He's already in Fayetteville, plans to shut down his recruitment soon, and we're his best offer.

Here's some defensive recruiting Kool Aid from Rivals:
That's right. Over half of Bielema's defensive recruits were nearly two stars or were two stars. Meanwhile, Chad has only signed one and it was Andrew Parker who had big time offers near the end. Marcus Miller and the aforementioned Myles Brooks would make three, but that's out of nearly twenty commits and signees for around 15% rather than 50%.

Bielema’s five classes featured 59 defensive signees that had a 5.57 average rating. Only 28.8 percent of them had at least a 5.7 rating and a whopping 52.5 percent were a 5.5 or lower rating.

I’m not saying I’m excited but if the boner police are around, I’m demanding my lawyer.

Could go back to back on Aug 5-6 with Enoch and Spivey too.

Chad and staff are putting in work getting solid players. Just saw about the Oklahoma kid on FB.
I have hopes!

In less than six months the new staff specifically Caldwell and Chavis proves Bielema’s inability to recruit DL was result of shite DL coaching hires and laziness. All the propaganda we heard about switching to the 3-4 only because we lacked depth because they couldn’t recruit consistently.
2018 - Nichols, Ferrell, Fulwider, Alexander, Gerald.
2019 - Soli, C. Williams, Z. Williams, Gregory, Clay.
Could add Marcus Miller, Enoch Jackson and Kendall Young who is a OLB/edge rusher.
Also had an early commit from Trevis Hopper before parting ways.

Oh yeah I remember that the scheme switch happened because one "couldn't recruit the defensive line necessary" to run a 4-3.

I was in favor of the switch because I thought it would mean for the first time the defensive coaches were serious about actually attacking on defense and getting more speed on the field. Instead they sat back and took whatever the offense threw at them in the 3-4. Having our NG and DL line up two-three yards off the ball, 10 yard cushions exclusively. Passive and Outrageous.

I can’t say I’ve ever seen a worse defense in my life. It was like they were in practice and we were just going half speed so the offense could rep a play.

Morris is assembling Arkansas' greatest defensive end class in rivals rankings history

The good news is that two of those four are still on the roster. Bell and Agim may ball out in Chavis' scheme that attacks the QB. Sure, his defenses were lackluster at A&M, but they lead the SEC in QB sacks.
In not so pleasant recruiting news, Josh Donovan, the OT we offered as a 34th choice, has decided to return to JUCO. He's either really betting on himself considering his offers were Arkansas or FCS, or there was a qualifying issue. Dustin Fry better start beating out some non Petrino P5 programs for OL recruits. He hasn't even beat out Louisville for any yet.

Willy Robinson FTW

Lol Willy wasn't even close to as bad as 2016 or 2017. A lot of his defenses sucked, but they were at least physical and tough. They didn't get ran on for 500 yards, but they got torched in the back end. His 2010 defense was actually pretty good. Arkansas was around middle of the pack in the SEC which was good enough with Mallett and crew.
