I think what's frustrating is that a school like OM, who I feel is inferior to AR, landed 3 NFL first rounders

I still think something shady is going on in Oxford, and will eventually come to light.

I've never seen an Arkansas staff swing at so many 4*/5*/espn300 types in my life.

To be fair that has nothing to do with what I was talking about.

They have 3 NFL first rounders who have lost two years straight to Arkansas.

And they are still playing the in the Sugar Bowl. We beat them....so what. They still went to a better bowl.

OM has beat Bama 2 years in a row and they have went to the playoff both years. Talent and recruiting matter regarding your overall record year in and year out.

Yeah, head-to-head success is a pretty simplistic way of looking at a 12-14 game season. We beat OM and LSU, which was awesome. But we play more games. Depth is still an issue for us.

They also lost to Memphis, the same Memphis team that is struggling with an Auburn team with no passing threat.

It also took a fluke play for them to beat Bama this year.

There is more to it than recruiting.

Arkansas can easily be a Michigan State type program, not high up in the recruiting rankings year in and out, but finish high up in the standings year in and out due to recruiting the right type of players, establishing a redshirt program, and utilizing a strong development program creating a next guy up scenario for sustained success.

Typical honest evaluation that most Hog fans refuse to accept.

We are taking tons of swings at the top players in the region but little success or interest compared to other schools.

With the exception of Agim, at every position you don't see the hog logo until you get to the bottom of the list.

That's not very encouraging.

I will say this, however, Bert does seem to be bringing in more guys that have frames to build upon. They're coming in bigger with better bases to shape and form.

I do think Body by Herb is a myth of sorts, they're getting too big, losing speed and agility. We're beginning to look like a Big 10 team. I don't mind building a bruising power team I kinda like the grind it out style, but add to that some speed and flash like what we've seen a little bit with Dominique Reed and that's a thing of beauty.

I know I get a little too hung up on recruiting, but it's so damn important to the results on the field.

Also which of our QB's are transferring? W/ all the QB transfers it would be odd for us to keep all 4 we have on campus w/ another FR coming in. I would think that they'd all go through spring drills and #4 then decides to go down a level.

Frankly no. Because one player isn't enough.

He did a great job w/ Agim no doubt about that.

We need better human capital to work with.

we've still got a lot of kids on our High choice list that haven't decided anywhere and we've gotten almost all our top targets. Based on this i'd say bert has done a good job this year. Still plenty left on the table as well.

I'm pretty sure it took a fluke play for Arkansas to beat Ole Miss as well
