I may be in the minority on this one but I couldn't give a shite less where Gragg decides to go to school. I wasn't impressed with him when I watched him in person, but it was only one game so the sample size isn't great.

I wasn't impressed with his tape on hudl but I admittedly don't know jack about projecting tight ends so... someone help me out here, what am I looking for that makes him stand out from the others?

I think so many people are offering him because the way his brother blew up at college so these schools are throwing there hat in the running. I still think if he wants to make money in the league he needs to look at Jason Peters and get it in his head that is his best route. Otherwise he will be at best like former Alabama TE Michael Williams - but shorter, chain mover.

All of this talk about Gragg not being good just sounds like sour grapes to me. Pre-emptive bashing because no one thinks he's going to come here.
If we've offered a scholarship, we want him. So either you guys know more than our coaches (which I've been repeatedly hammered on over the past year), or we need new coaches. Why would you ever support a coach that would offer such a dismal prospect?
You wouldn't. He isn't a dismal prospect. He's a good prospect from within our borders. We want him. He's home state. His brother is a legacy. Need to get him. If he chooses elsewhere, our coaches will not be happy and neither should we.
Darren McFadden's legs were toothpick thin coming out of high school, meaning a lot of people were worried he'd be able to carry the load offensively. Even if Gragg isn't developed yet, so what? That's why we have a S&C coach and a redshirt program.

Don't forget, Will Gragg is 6'5". I'm guessing his wingspan is a lot wider than yours. He's also just a junior.
If I were 5 inches shorter and the same weight and body fat % I am now, I'd have killer biceps.

I would probably look like Patton Oswalt.

I can see why you'd think that, but it's really not, at least in my case. It has nothing to do with how good he'll be. He could be great. I just hate his attitude and based on everything, he seems like an overly entitled little shite. I'm not saying I'd be upset if he did come here. I just really wouldn't care at all if he doesn't.

Somewhere in that list of assumptions is an answer but I can't see it.
ETA: To be as clear as I possibly can, I stated I don't know what to look for, and asked for advice on that. You can leap to any conclusion you want to.

honestly I am to the point that I don't care if they act entitled, arrogant, or as if they have never kissed a girl and don't know what area of the body a girls excitement points are..
as long as they bring the attitude, will, desire and win!
Geesh, we haven't been to the point that we are so great as to not want a player because

I dont bash kids because they dont want to come to Arkansas. I haven't had anything negative to say about Kiehl, Altee, or Josh. I dont claim to know more than our coaches, its just my personal opinion that I dont give a shite where he goes to college. I felt the same way about Dyer. If he comes to Arkansas I'll cheer him like everyone else but if he goes out of state I wont lose an ounce of sleep over it. Assume all you want though.

Just remember, this is a kid - maybe in a man's body, but a kid nonetheless.
I'm sure the attention he's getting is a little intoxicating and he's eating it up. A lot of us would.
It probably seems like the whole world is opening up to him, when just a few short years ago his world was pretty much limited in his eyes to Warren and Monticello, AR.
I'm not sure that I wouldn't be a little 'star struck' and looking around and enjoying every minute of it myself. On top of that, kids sometimes say stupid things.
He will be an SEC caliber athlete I believe, but still quite raw. Lots of potential though. And tackle may very well end up being his ticket, but it may be hard for him to see that - I'm sure he likes having the ball in his hands occasionally.
Best thing we can do for him is hope that he matures mentally and makes good decisions.
Hope he's a Hog, but if it turns out he wants to go somewhere else, so be it. I think we will recruit someone else that will fill his spot more than adequately. As long as he doesn't go out of his way to diss the Hogs, I'm okay with him doing whatever.

Regardless, that's some pretty sad muscle development. It looks like he just skips the weight room.

Not really worried about him. He isn't a must get. O'grady is the TE we need badly. Other schools fans are only looking at Graggs stars and nothing else.
O'Grady is a beast.

Isn't that a fairly common theme with high school athletes in Arkansas? I've been led to believe that many programs don't have strength programs.
Posted on 3/25/14 at 4:51 pm to ocelot4ark
Getting Gragg/OGrady/Hill etc would be a huge boost for this class in perception and on the field performance over the next few years.
The program needs this, CBB needs this...
and Dang It! I NEED THIS!@

He doesnt want to be behind a lot of TE's and honestly wants to be the only TE or 'good' TE in his class. We have Henry and will hopefully add O'Grady who is the best TE in the state.

Which is why he needs to get after it and be Uncommon. NFL doesn't gift roster spots.

Do you know anything about this young man? He is the real deal and to say we don't need him is .....
well, you know

I do know if what is being said about him wanting to be the only TE taken in his class or go to place that guarantees him a spot on the 2 deep, he could have all the talent in the world, but being scared of competition isn't what is needed at Arkansas.
He also doesn't have the excuse of the offense not being suited towards his position like other players have used the past few decades...
