I think Kraus is going to be expected to play this year. No way Hall cracks the two deep at DE right now. That's probably our deepest spot on the roster at the moment.

They don't enroll as a full time student until the spring semester and then join the team then and count towards the following years class.
The downside for recruits is that they don't get the benefit of being able to use the Arkansas workout facilities. They go a semester without football and have to stay in playing shape elsewhere.

gotcha. so if they were going to redshirt then this is basically the same thing.
However, they're actually enrolled in a different school and not with the team, correct? That kinda sucks because I'm assuming the U of A doesn't have to honor that scholly.

They can enroll as a part time student at Arkansas if they want but yeah we technically don't have to honor the scholarship. It's a risky proposition for any kid to take.

I would probably tell my kid to do the same thing. In my opinion, it's one thing to be asked to greyshirt straight up but a completely different thing to be asked to do it after being committed for many months.
