'14 PF Trey Thompson commits to Arkansas
I remember a few years ago when this commitment would be hyped up by HA on Jumpball, said to be the next Garnett/Noviski etc like when Mickelson committed.
Nope, he is a 4 year project at best who you hope contributes some during his time on the hill.

Dude is retarded. He continues to say Thompson is 'fat'.
He is 6-9/240.
He says nothing positive about Arkansas BBall, ever. I like how he continues to post like he is on the inside of the program. He just subscribes to every Arkansas pay site.

Coaches still feel good about Abu Lamin possibly committing on his visit next week, despite the offers that have come in.

Gresham moved from Louisville to Texas at age 12 but still has plenty of family members living in the 502.
"I'm going up to see my family and see the campus sometime this summer," said Gresham. "I'll probably stop by more [UofL] than once. I want to go back and visit and see everything again and go from there.
"How strongly is the 5-10, 236-pound Gresham considering a return home for college?
"It's a big possibility," Gresham said. "I grew up with Louisville being my hometown team and my grandfather's janitorial service used to clean up the stadium and I would get free tickets and go to all the games. I remember the overtime win against Florida State, Michael Bush against UK, all those big moments. Regardless if I end up signing with them they'll always be my favorite team.
"Louisville's football program has been elevated in stature, mostly by joining the ACC and Charlie Strong's commitment to stay with the Cardinals, since Gresham moved to Texas a few years ago and his family members are encouraging him to return home for college.
"The program is on a rocket [ship] going the right way," Gresham said. "The program has been amazing. My whole family is pulling for me to go there. They feel like Louisville is the best place for me because I'd be coming home and they could take care of me. They love the coaching staff - Coach Strong, Coach Carter, Coach Hurtt, all of them. They really want me to come back.
"Louisville is one of a handful of programs Greshman plans to visit this summer."I have a handful of schools [I'm considering]," Gresham said.
"I plan on visiting some of them. I know Louisville is for sure one. Alabama, Ole Miss, Miami, Florida State and a couple of others. I feel like I'll visit Louisville more than once because I'll be up there with my family.
"Gresham may make an unofficial visit to Miami next Monday and is scheduled to see Ole Miss on June 7. Both of those programs are top options for the highly-touted running back."They're Miami," Gresham said of his interest in the Hurricanes. "I have a brother that lives in Miami and I love the MIami coaching staff. The only thing that is holding me back from them being my number one [school] is I really want to go visit and see how I would fit the offense. I know out of all the schools I'm looking into Miami has the best academics and that's a big piece [of my decision].
Gresham says Ole Miss has been involved in his recruitment since before he committed to Texas.
"I've already visited there and they were one of the first schools to offer me," said Gresham. "They told me one thing they're missing is a big back and I did my research and they have a lot of smaller guys. They're a school on the rise and I feel I can come right in and contribute. Being in the SEC is a big thing too and I love the way they pound the ball. I'd love to play in the SEC. One thing I'm intrigued about is going into the law field and Ole Miss just built a new law building on their campus and that kind of got me hooked."

Running back Daniel Gresham announced on May 19 that Arkansas had made his top five. Today, he announced Miami, Ole Miss, Florida State, Alabama and Missouri as his other finalists on Twitter to make it a top six.
No Louisville. Welp....

Yeah there were some very unhappy Louisville fans on twitter earlier.

I hope so. We need to start getting some kids to commit.

I can't help but wonder if the 50+ speaking engagements Bielema has done this spring hasn't come at a price. I understand there's some groundwork to be done on laying down the foundation, but recruiting some top shelf athletes will get those checks coming in with larger numbers than glad handing the Searcy County Poultry Producers Association or the Sports HoF wads.

I don't really think there is a rush to bring in recruits too early...It probably is important to get CBB out in front of everyone and then bring in recruits in smaller numbers starting with camps then AFTER the new facility is done...
just my .02
just my .02

I think everyone is taking a wait and see approach with this coaching staff. If we start doing well look for recruits to pour in.

I'm expecting a flurry in July when the on campus camps happen.
I have faith in the staff's ability to flip kids too. I like Bielema's approach and I'm not crazy about the early commits because kids grow so much from Jr. year of HS to Fr. of college, but this is the world we live in now where the top recruits are usually identified in their Soph. year, do the camps and combines, get the press and website hype and that monster feeds into itself.
I'm not worrying but I'd like to see us stay in the public eye a little better, the exposure and public opinion can change perceptions which opens up more doors for the coaches.

He can't be out on the road right now anyways. Assistants only at this time so might as well let him try to get the money rolling in while the other guys hit the road.

Malik Monk Will Soon be a Household Name
If Marcus lets this kid get out of the state then there will be blood.
quote:
One of the most offensively gifted players at the tournament, Monk showed off his explosiveness with a one-handed tomahawk posterization of a 6-9 center from Southern Stampede, as well as his ability to shoot off of the dribble, consistently nailing long range bombs all weekend long.

I would bet he ends up at Kentucky.

I cold see him playing a year in Italy, then to the NBA.
Marcus knows the game, get paid.

Marcus is gonna work on him, there's a chance he could move to Fayetteville in a year or so and finish his HS career.

The only logical thing for Marcus is to transfer to NLR. They're 1 shy of having the 5 best guards in the state on their team.

I think Marcus might be out of high school eligibility
