slow news weekend again.

Anyone know where the other JUCO targets we looked at have signed or if any of them are still in play?

Also, can we talk Aaron Hamaker into walking on and beefing up to be a G or C?

Are we looking at Blake Mack down in Lonoke at all? He's an ASU commit 6'3" WR getting Cornelius back probably shut the door for any under the radar in state WR's I imagine.

Dead period seems to do that.

Yea, we don't recruit during the dead period besides the once a week phone call coaches can make.

Meanwhile Kiffin at Ole Miss is dropping off duffle bags during this period.

Doesn't mean the guys whose jobs is it to report on recruiting can't email, txt, or call the targets and get some quotes.

I'd think a dead period would make the recruits easier to get in touch with since they aren't being hounded by coaches.

I like how they all of a sudden jump to the top with Hootie Jones during a dead period.

I was looking at the stats of JUCO F Willie Atwood.

In one game he had 49 pts and went 33-37 from the FT line.

This might go down as another recruit that we don't get, but finished right there neck and neck with a couple of other teams.

But I don't think that is something to be ashamed of. In my opinion, it speaks volumes due to the fact that we went 3-9 this year.

Yes; MVB and all that, I know.

Well, you have to be at least in serious consideration before you can land big timers.
Good to see that despite the season, we are at least on the radar.
Now, just got to make that last step - landing a few.

Also congrats to Cole Hedlund on being First Team All-USA by USA Today! LINK

quote:

Cole Hedlund | K | 5-10, 170 | Argyle, Texas | Arkansas Has made 24 of 26 field-goal attempts, with a long kick of 52 yards and 101 of 101 point-after kicks. He fell just one field goal short of his own national record of 25 field goals, set as a sophomore. His brother Chad is a sophomore kicker for Wake Forest.

Top SEC commits at defensive tackle–Arkansas leads the pack
quote:

1. Bijhon Jackson–Arkansas commit

El Dorado (Ed Dorado, Ark.), 6-2/335
The skinny: The best player in Arkansas–period–this ultra quick tackle was coveted by all of the powers that be in the SEC West, but he stayed close to home and Bret Bielema couldn’t be happier. He’s the best recruit the Razorbacks have this year. He can plug up a hole in a heartbeat and keep anything from getting past him.

Awesome pub for Bijhon.
Wish we could snag one more (in addition to Watts) to go with him.

Not sure why anyone would go to school in Lubbock over Fayetteville.

I think he had a Notre Dame offer as well, didn't he? Something definitely seems off.

He's an 85 rated safety who gives a frick? Didn't want him myself.

His ND offer wasn't committable either, they got Tranquill in November.

I don't think Hendrix is that much better than the kid at Dollarway imo.
