Koehler, Skipper, one or two of the OL from last weekend, and the guys we already had on board would be a pretty good OL haul this year.
It seems like the OL left on the board are Skipper, Johnson, Lacy, and Kirkland. How many do you think we take, and in what order do you want them?
I'll say:
1. Lacy
2. Kirkland (south FL pipeline would be nice)
3. Skipper
4. Johnson
I'd be happy with any combination of them.
at this point I think we take all the OL we can get.

That is the same way I feel. Sign all 4 if you can.

I'm inclined to agree with you. We could start a good redshirt program with the OL from this class and still use one or two guys if we get really desperate for bodies.

Just thinking, we need bodies for every position on the field, except WR and QB and really wouldn't hurt to improve the talent at these positions, QB we just are not sure of.
How the frick is this possible for a coaching staff who should have been going into their 6th season?

I feel ok about WR but D. Allen would be a nice addition. TE is ok. Still not sold on the Allens at QB but time will tell. Jwill needs some help at RB. DL should be ok for one more year but will be a big need the next year and would be nice to sign one more. At this point we should take any LB or DB that can walk and chew bubble gum!!!!!

I want to say that BP has never had to plan for more than 4 years down the road because he's never stayed anywhere that long.
Just rode the backs of some really good Arkansas talent which is a bit of an anomaly. and happy b-day Lat, hopefully the karma swings our way today.

BP doesn't build a program the right way, it's all smoke and mirrors. He's a good program resuscitator but a horrible long term solution.

Our saving grace is the good in state DL class next year. We already have Bijon, now if we can just land Frazier. Those two will go a long way to building a great DL class next year.

I still think we need to add another DT if possible. I know we have serveral good ones in state next year but you would be asking 1 of them to come in and play right away. Frazier is the only one I see being able to do that.

Agreed. Haven't seen Frazier but Bijohn is pretty raw and his motor doesn't run all the time like it will need to in the SEC. He has freakish potential but won't be an impact freshman unless he kicks it in high gear this summer. So yes another DT would be nice.

So Evans hasn't actually talked to tthe coaches yet to confirm his visit this weekend.
quote:
Three-star RB Denzell Evans of Bellaire, Texas, just texted back and said he didn't talk to RBs coach Joel Thomas last night but is still planning to visit Arkansas this Friday. Evans, a teammate of 3-star OT Dwayne Johnson, remains committed to Houston but has said he would commit to the Hogs if offered

Its crazy the amount of work this staff is putting into salvaging this class.
I don't feel like they are just tossing out offers to the fruit that is on the ground, but they are putting in back up plans, the back up plans to the back up plans, etc.
HiV is having a hard time grasping the concept that our recruiting is in the same spot in regards to the SEC now that it was after Petrino's legendary 21-5 run, they keep wanting to blame JLS and Long for this class's "failure", but it isn't like the 2010 and 2011 are going into the recruiting ranking hall of fame...
