Brandon Vandenburg
Commits to Vandy. Not a huge surprise but was set to visit Arkansas and Tennessee.

At least we still got Henry locked up. TE isn't a huge need with Tate, Voelzke, Dean and Henry.

Yeah I could really care less about Vandenburg to be honest.

I think they want another for depth, Bielema ran a lot of 2 TE and even 3TE in the redzone.

You could put Kiero or Kody Walker out there in a 3TE set though they don't have the best of hands.

I'd really like to see Kiero catch some balls this season, he needs a shot at the NFL.

Kiddo will get a shot in the nfl. A true FB is still used a ton there and that is exactly what he is.

I imagine we'll go after Antonio Zepeda now. This kid is about as under the radar as you can get. That is the only profile he has out there. Nothing on 247, Rivaks or ESPN. He had 37 catches for 800+ yards at TE this year despite playing a good portion of the year at QB.

Apparently 2Beez sees something that he likes in this kid because he stopped by and saw him personally while he was out in Arizona to see Devon Allen.

I read that blurb about him. Surprising that a guy with his size and speed would be so overlooked.

I'm game with whoever we get, as long as they play like a beast and don't do stupid shite to embarrass us or be criminals.

As was already mentioned, fullbacks are used all the time in the NFL. Look at Arian Foster's crazy 2010 season. Without Vonta Leach leading the way, that wouldn't have happened. He's had very good years since Leach left but it hasn't been the same. A good fullback is an integral part to a successful run game and a good fullback is what Kiero Small is. Kiero has a MUCH better shot in the NFL as a FB than as a RB.

This says something different?

LINK

quote:

AUBURN, Alabama – Auburn picked up a commitment today when wide receiver Tony Stevens flipped from Texas A&M to the Tigers. Auburn also entertained another player committed to another SEC school to see if he might do the same.

Three-star safety Khari Harding from Edmond, Okla., didn't flip his commitment from Arkansas, but said he enjoyed his visit to Auburn.

"I saw what I needed to see. I liked the tradition and what the coaches were talking about. It was a good visit," he said.

Harding, who checks in at 6-foot-1, 205, was recruited by new Auburn coach Gus Malzahn when he was at Arkansas State, but the safety committed to Arkansas. Malzahn has tried again since arriving at Auburn.

"I like these coaches a lot,” Harding said. "They know what they are talking about. They’ve coached a lot of great players. They have put players in the league and I like that a lot."

Harding said he isn't sure when he'll make his final decision, though he still says he's committed to Arkansas.

"Auburn is right behind Arkansas. I have no timetable for my decision," he said.

Well, I guess that could explain why he says he is still committed but RD says he isn't considered a commit. However, how could RD know? The coaches can't comment on players they are recruiting and it doesn't sound like RD heard it from Harding. Can non-coaching football staff talk about recruits?

Could have heard it from a replacement recruit, "I'm being recruited to replace a safety that was dropped by the staff" there is only 14, wait 12 recruits, 5 signed 1 saftey who was committed...

Coaches can talk about recruits to people off the record, and they do so all the time.
