LB for West Memphis is a STUD. Ole Miss is his favorite right now actually
Well we need to change that. Marion is just across the interstate from W. Memphis, I'd hope Jerry Franklin's success might make an impression. It's likely the kid's family is all around Memphis/MS.
I've got faith in Taver and Haynes. Get em on campus and sell, sell, sell!

Jerry liked Ole Miss early also....
It's the closest SEC school to the area. Only reason why Jarvis Cooper likes ole miss so much is that and they had him on campus last year for a game. It was the first time he had ever been on an actual field to watch a game. All Arkansas has to do is do the same and we are a top choice...

Sounds like a kid from a hard knocks blue collar background. Regardless of his football talent I hope he uses his opportunity to get a degree and better his life. Of course working his tail off and becoming a 10 yr NFL player is a good plan A but not a likely course.
Horton needs to be working his arse off on this kid, he needs to be in Fayetteville on an official visit for Bama.

It's already in the works to get him on campus for that game. Regardless if the coaches are trying to or not. If you catch my drift.

This was one of my only complaints about Petrino. I think their approach to instate recruiting was very poor. Time and again we were getting beat to the punch by out of state schools offering and recruiting our guys first. That means a lot to these guys and they often times feel very loyal to the first school that offers. The new staff has got to put a stop to that practice first thing.

Petrino wanted the instate crop to camp...you can't offer an instate kid then pull his offer later.
We offer out of state kids earl too and Bobby was good at identifiying talent. See Bennett this year

I'm talking the elite guys. Not guys like Jeremy Sprinkle. I get making those guys come to camp because of the quality of football in some parts of the state its hard to judge how good those guys truly are on film. However, its completely unacceptable to get beat on the first offer to guys like Brey Cook, Altee Tenpenny and Michael Dyer. Those guys didn't come to camp to earn offers and yet we still drug our feet on offering them.

We were the 1st offers, we offered Dyer like during his sophomore season.

I didn't think we were Tennpenny's first offer? I though he got a couple before us right after the competition.
ETA: Ole Miss was his first offer.
Also, Malzahn was the first person to offer Dyer a scholarship when he was still at Tulsa.

I don't have any connections at all except in rare cases. I have an inside scoop for Cooper. I'll try my best to get us random updates when something happens with him.

I haven't ever spent more than 30 seconds in that place, but it does seem like a place where Dudley would fit in.

An "insider" into his recruitment on PM says Arkansas is a real player in his recruitment. He's supposed to be visiting Columbia this week so that could change.
