Been reading about the possibility of Kiero Small getting some reps at LB. Wonder if that will come to pass? Said he was a vicious (or was it violent?) hitter.

Per RD:

-Altee Tenpenny will be visiting again on the 21st.

-Eric Beisel is visiting next Tuesday.

-Tyler Cogswell is coming back for his second visit this summer since committing. He's going to visit at the first of August for a few days and will be here for the start of fall practice.

Would be some kind of miracle to flip Altee, even if we had a coach with a long term contract.

Alworth.

You'd think Atwater would have been rated pretty high but he was a QB out of HS, and also not from Texas, Florida, Cali, Alabama, or Tidewater.

Would Ahmad Carroll be the highest regarded OOS player we've signed? I know he was hyped stupid, but not sure if he would have been a 5 star level.

I remember that some services had Batman as the #2 CB in his class, but can't remember if he was annointed the Fifth Star (and too lazy to look it up). Richardson was also rated by some in the Top 5 at Corner the same year. Billy Ray Smith was one of the top recruits in the Country back in his time, of course we had an in with him through his Daddy.

I remember Nutt's press conference type thing where he hyped Lawrence Richardson up to Darrell Green status. Can remember Nutt going full retard on how that class was the best we've ever had, and how it was only going to be High Cotton from there on out, and wasn't that class Jr's and Sr's during his 2 yr pass?

I don't know if they even had 'stars' back then, but Joe Ferguson was about as highly recruited as they come.

So looks like today was a rough day for the baseball program, MLB wise.

Poche is the only higher end recruit that didn't sign.

D’Vone McClure signed with the Cleveland Indians Thursday and Teddy Stankiewicz is heading to Junior College in order to be draft eligible again next season after the Mets failed to sign him. Ty Buttrey, a fourth-round pick, signed with the Boston Red Sox and the San Francisco Giants signed ninth-round outfielder Shilo McCall.

Rat's arse.
I was really hoping that we would get McClure and Staniewicz to campus. Baseball recruiting has to be the toughest job out there. Do you gamble on the best players and hope to get 25% to campus or go after the "tweeners"?

Get your athletes on the field. Especially if Brandon Allen ends up as #2 QB.

Bobby Portis just continues to dominate everywhere he goes.

He is dominating for Team USA Midwest right now:

Josh Paunil ?@JoshPaunilNRS
USA Midwest gets the 85-77 win over USA West. Standouts include Rondae Jefferson, James Young & Bobby Portis.

Josh Paunil ?@JoshPaunilNRS
This game has featured a lot of great passing big men. Marcus Lee, Kennedy Meeks & Bobby Portis to name a few.

Josh Paunil ?@JoshPaunilNRS
Bobby Portis playing well early in the third quarter. Showing why he's a top-15 recruit. Arkansas fans gotta be happy.

Josh Paunil ?@JoshPaunilNRS
Nick King is doing a great job of the offensive glass. Bobby Portis also showing how underrated his passing & court vision is.

F'n Willy Robinson gets us again. I'd rather see him at OLB/S if he's got the mentality for defense.

Brandon did seem to get pretty nervous when he was in the game, I'm guessing he never got settled into the role.

So I just read that Greenland had a 6-11 270lb C sign with Ark-Monticello. Peter something or another is his name. He averaged 15/10/8 in his Sr. season.

I'm sure he couldn't run with the big dogs in MA's system, but I didn't hear anything about him at all living out of state. Anyone see the kid play? Was he on the level of Hankins or the Nelson guy from West Fork? (which btw they were pretty sucky) Greenland's coach seemed pretty high on his potential, curious if we might hear more about him in 4 years or so, or if he was talented enough for us to offer him a walk on spot.

just now getting around to watching the A&M replay, i always talked about wanting to see more RB screens in our offense but we actually ran a lot of them in that game...some smart playcalling. Dennis Johnson is deadly at that.

Our run defense Im glad tyler survived that game...jeez. Wade had a good game
