Depends who you ask.
Prior to Petrino being fired it looked like he was going to commit to us around the time of the spring game when he visited.
Now that has obviously not happened.
There are people on different Razorback boards that claim we are still the top school but then you have that tweet that came out the other day from the Opening that listed his supposed favorites and Arkansas wasn't included. So who really knows what is going on there with him. I have to think we will get an OV at least but I wouldn't count him as in the bag anymore at all.
As the days go by, I find my self getting more and more pissed off about the whole Petrino thing. Our class should be ridiculous right now but instead we are having threads mocking our recruiting class on the board because people are to stupid to realize that we have an interim coach.
We should have at least had 4*'s Jamel James, Mark Dodson, Christian Morgan, Austin Allen and Tori Hunter already committed to us and no telling how many other prospects we have missed out on. If those 5 were committed this would be a top 15 class right now instead of around 50.
This is going to be a very frustrating recruiting season until we have a permanent coach in place I feel.

Yep, I'm trying to not even think about recruiting.
I thought we would have snagged the Samoan lb/s and the Samoan DT from cali or at least Von Bell. Those 2 safeties were practically begging to sign now, Petrino gone, they gone.
The OT in Illinois brushed us off right after Petrino got canned after saying he's coming to camp and coming for an official.
Gonna be a 2 class swing in the negative for us. I think 2015 will be full of suckage if we don't get a stellar guy that can integrate his stuff with our current young talent. The 2008 season was rough, rough, rough to watch.

I got to thinking about it the other day and had a tantrum. Threw rocks as hard as I could at a mound of dirt for about 30 minutes. I think I need Tommy John surgery now.

Hopefully Van Horn is working on Hunter as well? Seems like he would since he would be on a football scholly, and not count against his 12.7 (or whatever the number for baseball is.)

I'm not even getting excited when we do get commits, or get mentioned in someone's "Top X" list. If we get a home run hire, we might be able to pull out a few top commits and salvage the class. If not, the entire class could fall apart and this year's class is completely down the toilet.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I'm sure glad I'm not Jeff Long right now. Dude has to be eating antacids like M&Ms!

Marcus Robinson might be announcing on Thursday. He listed his top 3 as Arkansas, Ole Miss and Clemson.

No kidding. Him and Brooks Ellis would be a great start at LB this early at a position we have been having a lot of trouble recruiting.

Who knows. Depends on the hire. I see us finishing 30-35 at the absolute worst.

I tend to agree. My #1 college hire would be Mark Dantonio. If we can't pry him away from MSU then I would go after Briles, Charlie Strong or James Franklin. All three are guys that I think we could realistically get that are all top notch recruiters. We're not going to get anyone on Petrino's level so its imperative that we get a good recruiter.

Yeah if he has another good season at Vandy then he is going to be a very hot commodity. However he strikes me as the type of guy who wants one of the elite jobs while Briles just wants to be around Texas. Prying Briles away might be a safer long term move.
