Was Kodi Burns the last prospect to come from Northside? That school was a major pipeline for the Hogs over the years.

Sadly, my Alma Mater has really declined over the past decade. I don't know what the hell has happened. NHS and SHS were powerhouses. Our games against KC Rockhurst and Tulsa Union were epic! SHS is holding on, but nothing like they were. Maybe the emergence of NWA has weakened Ft. Smith? It's my best guess...

Lots of jobs in Ft. Smith have disappeared. Winn-Dixie/GP is a shell, Baldor is still strong but was sold to a Swiss conglomerate last year, Whirlpool may be gone, Rheem is down, Beverly moved the corp HQ to Dallas, Ft. Chaffee is long gone, and lots of other mfg facilities have bit the dust.
Arkansas Best and OK Foods are ok but they're not great paying jobs.
Ft. Smith has a rough road ahead, it's political clout in the state has evaporated too.

They wanted Baldor's high efficiency technology. Gov. mandates came into effect for industrial applications. Baldor was way ahead of the game and a global leader in the technology. My dad works for Baldor, he fears after they integrate the technology in their European and Asian mfg. facilities they'll shut the American plants and R&D down. From what he was told a condition of the sale was autonomy and biz as usual, but we all know that dissolves over time.
I'd really like to see Juco football in Arkansas, it'd come at the expense of the old AIC schools, but it'd increase D1 opps for local kids.
I think UAFS, NWACC, ASU-Mtn Home, SAU Tech, the LR juco, and either the Texarkana or El Dorado juco would be enough to start a league or merge with the Oklahoma schools for a big juco league.

A little early to name Hatcher as a starter, don't you reckon? Heck, he may, but TBD.
On a side note, nice article on Nathan Holmes in todays Demo-zette. Didn't realize he was quite that fast (4.43, 10.38 100m)
