Corner: DeMarcus Milliner (Hands Down)
Safety: Mark Barron

You couldn't throw the ball on Dee Milliner's side.

Milliner got roasted pretty good his freshman season, which can be expected for a freshman corner. After that he was lights out.

Surtain was lockdown all 3 years he was at Bama.

Levi Wallace is my favorite though.

Safety is a hard one, but probably between Eddie Jackson and Minkah.

Robert Lester is the most underrated IMO.

Minkah Fitzpatrick is without question the best Safety of the Saban era and a surefire College Football Hall of Fame inductee.

He won both the Bednarik and Thorpe award in 2017, was a unanimous 1st Team All-American that same year as well as a consensus 1st Team All-American in 2016. That's to say nothing of being back-to-back 1st Team All-SEC.

Mark Barron- and to add to this. I miss safety’s like this, played with reckless abandon. I miss our defenses that hated everyone.

Who was the best Corner and best safety under Saban?

Whew... This is a LOADED question. Everyone is going to have a different interpretation on this question. I think recency bias and NFL careers will drive this discussion which is perfectly fine.

My two cents are:

Best Potential Career (HS/College/NFL)
- CB: Patrick Surtain (1 All Pro, 1 Pro Bowl, All-Rookie Team, 9th Overall 1st Rounder, CFP National Champ, Rose Bowl Defensive MVP, SEC DPOY, 1x Unanimous AA, 1st Team SEC, US Army All American, 5 Star OR

- CB: Marlon Humphrey (1x All Pro, 3x Pro Bowl, NFL Force Fumble Leader, 16th Overall 1st Rounder, 1x First AA, CFP National Champ

- S: Minkah Fitzpatrick (3X 1st Team All Pro, 3X Pro Bowl, NFL Int Leader (2022), 2x CFP National Champ, Chuck Bednarik Award, Jim Thorpe Award, 1x Unanimous All American, 1x Consensus All American,2x First Team All SEC)

------------

Underrated Career (HS/College/NFL)
- CB: Kareem Jackson (20 Overall 1st Rounder, 13 Seasons - 901 Total Tackles, 20 INT, 107 Pass Deflections, 7 FF, 7 FR, 4 Defensive TDs, National Champ, Freshman AA.)

- S: Rashad Johnson (3rd Rounder, 383 Total Tackles, 15 INT, 31 Pass deflections, 2 FF, 4 FR. National Champ, 2X 1st Team All-SEC)

------------

College Productivity (excl: PR/Return Yards)
- CB: Marlon Humphrey (2 Years, 81 Tackles, 6.5 TFL, 5 Int, 13 PD, 1 TD, 3 FF) OR
- CB: Patrick Surtain II (3 Years, 116 Tackles, 6 TFL, 4 INT, 1 TD, 24 PD, 4 FF)

- S: Robert Lester (4 Years, 147 Tackles, 6.5 TFL, 2.5 Sacks, 14 Int, 7 PD, 1 FF, 1FR) OR
- S: Mark Barron (4 Years, 235 Tackles, 5.0 Sacks, 12 Int, 11 PD, 1 FF, 1 FR)
