Where does Clemson rank against past semi opponents?

I know it has no meaning to actual game discussion, but I think this is the strongest playoff (as far as the strength and overall quality of the four teams, in my opinion).
Is Clemson better than all three past semi-final opponents? I think their OL and DL are the most physically imposing.

That OSU team was pretty nasty. Close call but way better than Washington or MSU.

That Ohio State team in 2014 was pretty damn good. They killed Oregon in the championship game.

Almost every player on that OSU defense is in the NFL. Plus Mike Thomas, Zeke, an NFL Qb, and Jalin Marshall. I’ll go to my grave saying we would’ve beaten them if JT Barrett was healthy. I think he’s one of the more overrated players ever

I don't think that they are. 2014 OSU is better than 2017 Clemson IMO. Depending on how the game goes, I might even put 2016 Washington over this year's Clemson. We'll see.

It goes beyond a simple ranking to determine who's best. If it was that straight-forward, I would not have posted this thread.

Agreed. Barrett is very overrated, and I (along with numerous others) are sick of hearing his name. Cardale Jones was harder for teams to prepare for in my opinion.

I think Ohio State is most likely better overall (I think Clemson is better and more physical in the trenches) but I think Clemson is better than Washington. Much better defense, great in the trenches, and maybe better at running the ball.
