The problem is going to be neutralizing their pass rush. If we stick Tua in there just to see what he can do in the pocket, we will get destroyed IMO.

Start of with Hurts. Try to pound the ball and throw short ... possession football.

Half way through the 2nd quarter, if we are getting stuffed, put in Tua and pray.

If we don't scheme around their pass rush we will not win.

We must accept the fact their dline is going to get a ton of pressure the whole game and adjust our play calling around that inevitability.

Hopefully the narrative is on our side: Bama is weak this year, Bama dynasty over, Hurts can't throw. If I were Saban I'd have a new story for the bulletin board every day telling them what pussies they are and they have NO chance in the playoffs. They'd be so pissed off by gametime, they'd make their own doorway from the locker room.

We need a 1992 Sugar Bowl performance all over again.

Edge rushing, sweeps, quick slants, quick cushion passes, straight RPO. No thinking no pocket stance just delivery.

Play Tua

We need to soften up their defense. If we aren't going to run screens from sideline to sideline and throw some short crossing routes... We ain't going to win without that or some vertical down the field throws.. And at this point I wouldn't rely on Jalen for that.

Jalen is too big to throw quickly. I think some packages for tUA to throw to the sidelines and stretch them out would be ideal.

We cannot line up and beat clemson straight up. We will have to do somethings different.

In this case I don't think it matters if we start Tua or Jalen, we need short, quick routes underneath and scream in Jalen's ear all month long that if you hold the ball past a 3 count, you're going to get your dick knocked in the dirt and there's nothing anybody can do to help you. Screens, true zone reads, quick slants, play action, etc. We've got to run the Auburn Nick Marshall offense with a little more downhill running mixed in or we get manhandled.

Dominate time of possession. It's the only way in my opinion. Clemson has an elite D-line but they only rotate 6 guys. Gotta tire those guys out and take advantage of there secondary which has some holes in the second half.

Also gotta get the defense the frick off the field on third down. If Bama can't do that then it will be a long game.

Also let Damien Harris touch the damn ball 25 times. He's fresh so ride the big dawg.

Convert 3rd downs. Last years defense held on as long as they could but we couldnt convert enough 3rd downs to give them enough rest. So who wins 3rd downs on both sides will decide the game.

Establish the run. Use their aggressiveness and pass rush against them like AU did us. Get healthy and play solid defense.

Most of all, Play to Win the Game

Feed Damien Harris. Limit penalties.

If Bo gets hot that's great, but considering how both have played if that trend continues Bo doesn't need to get as many carries as Damien. I think Jacobs is going to have some plays designed to get him the ball in space, I could honestly see him getting the most receptions.

I don't think this has much to do with it. He's 6'1 (if that) and doesn't appear to have ape arms. Some people just have a naturally quick release. He doesn't.

Although, this is true... It just sounds wrong saying it. Remembering how we kicked teams asses in the bowls/playoffs

We can't let them get pressure with only 4 rushing. We need them to make them blitz, then run counter plays into their aggressiveness. If they can get at hurts or tua with just the down linemen it's gonna be a long night. I also agree with a heavy does of the read option running with 2 backs. I don't think this Bryant guy is nearly the passer that Watson was, but he's pretty good, and qbs tend to have the games of their life against us. I think it's helpful for us to be the underdog
