He looked great against FSU. Looked smooth in coverage and made clean tackles. I don't know what's going on with him. Lacking confidence?

Holcombe had a bad game, but if we're going to bench guys based on this game, why not bench the whole front 7? Miss State's offense pushed us around.

Same reason Tony Brown plays.

Tony is a really good guy, but damn does he really blow in coverage.

He looked great on special teams and coverage. Get that right.

He isn't an every down LB. He isn't a run stopper or disruptor. He catches blocks and runners usually getting pancaked or run over along the way.

He should never be relied upon to play that role. Never. Situational nickel or dime backer to drop into coverage is his only non-special teams role.

This was really Holcombe's first bad game

Did you miss the 7SU Game?

That's like saying this was Hootie's first bad game or Tony Brown's first time to get absolutely whipped in coverage.

The coaching staff is stuck guys. You cannot put Moses in at Mike. Absolutely nothing against moses, but he looked so lost last night. Moses out of position, Holcombe in position and getting trucked. Damned if you do, damned if you dont.

Edit, Tony brown is terrible even with Minkah coaching him up all the time which is not his job.

Hootie is hootie, always 2 yds away from the play

we had a lot of bad tackles and players not being able to shed their blockers.

For as yoked up and as "physical" he's suppose be at DB, he's had some weak tackling the last few games.

Got stiffarmed to Hades recently too...

He's all we have. If he wasn't the best guy we have to put out there, he wouldn't be out there. We got to ride with the dogs we have, and we can still beat any team out there.

Last night was huge. Best win of the season. Now Roll gyotdamn Tide, sons

The solution is to get Moses coached up so he's in the right position.

Kinda disappointed we didn't see anybody else at MLB too. They'll be looking for somebody else to step up in practice this week.

The problem with Holcombe is they keep going forward when he hits them. That being said, little depth at LB. Not sure where else to go. The rest of them have little to no experience. That is hard to fix in 2 or 3 weeks.

Nice post. Smith also had a pretty tough game last week and caught the game winning TD last night.

We just needed the D to make a play last night and didn't get it. 3rd down conversion and 2 dropped INTs.

I agree, the most alarming thing about this year's defense has been the lack of turnovers. I kept thinking we were due for one last night but they missed their chances.
