The Tide opens the NCAA Tournament at home for just the second time after earning the right to host for the first time in program history last season. UA will make its third consecutive NCAA tournament debut and fourth appearance under head coach Wes Hart. Friday will mark Alabama's sixth all-time berth to the Big Dance.

Alabama Women Earn NCAA Cross Country Championship Berth, Cheruiyot and Kiprop Qualify Individually

The Crimson Tide women earned an at-large berth on Saturday, a day after Hillary Cheruiyot and Victor Kiprop qualified, individually, on the men’s side

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – A day after Alabama men's distance duo Hillary Cheruiyot and Victor Kiprop earned automatic, individual berths to the 2023 NCAA Cross Country Championships, the Crimson Tide women garnered an at-large bid, the organization announced Saturday. Alabama is making its fourth-consecutive team appearance at the National Championships for the first time in UA women's program history.

This year's national meet will be held Saturday, Nov. 18, in Charlottesville, Va. It will be the women's 12th appearance, overall.

The UA doubles team of Filip Planinsek and Andrii Zimnokh and Tide duo of Yair Sarouk and Matias Ponce De Leon opened the day with a win in paired play. All four competitors as well as Roan Jones secured a pair of singles wins to advance from the Round of 64 into Sunday's Round of 16.

Planinsek and Ponce De Leon both recorded a singles win in their respective semifinal match to meet once again in the finals. Planinsek would come out on top, winning his second event title of the day with a 6-3, 6-4 score.

Alabama's Victor Kiprop, Doris Lemngole Earn Yearly SEC Cross Country Awards, Six Garner All-South Region Honors

Kiprop was named the SEC Runner of the Year for the second-straight season, while Doris Lemngole became the second consecutive Crimson Tide runner to earn SEC Women’s Freshman of the Year honors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama cross country earned a pair of Southeastern Conference yearly awards, the league office announced Tuesday. In addition to the conference awards, the USTFCCCA announced its All-Region list where the Crimson Tide put up six student-athletes.

Victor Kiprop was voted the SEC Cross Country Runner of the Year for the second season in a row, while freshman phenom Doris Lemngole earned SEC Freshman of the Year accolades. It's now the third straight year that the Crimson Tide has been awarded men's Runner of the Year, and the second consecutive season that Alabama has produced a women's Freshman of the Year honoree.

Hawke’s Meet, School Record Highlights No. 19/20 Alabama Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving at Tennessee Invite

The Crimson Tide finished the opening day in third place in both the men’s and women’s team competition

A meet and school record performance in the 500-yard freestyle by Charlie Hawke highlighted the No. 19/20 Alabama Swimming Diving team on the opening night of competition at the Tennessee Invite.

Hawke's record-setting swim was one of 17 performances that placed in the A final of an event. Additionally, Cadence Vincent secured an Olympic Trial mark in the 50-meter freestyle during the morning's preliminary session, clocking a time of 25.34.

Alabama would finish the day ranked third on both sides of the team standings as the women held 202 points and the men garnered 227.

The are only 4 full men's teams competing and 5 full women's. Hooray, we're better than Kentucky and the Arkansas women

And they're swimming finals in short course yards. This is the most Tennesseesque clusterfrick imaginable. I think our women have been beaten by UVA's 2nd b squad relay at least once. Uva women are the reigning ncaa champs, but they shouldn't be able to go 8 deep and beat our top 4

Hawke Records Second Meet Record, Alabama Concludes Day Two of Tennessee Invite Strong

The Crimson Tide finished the day in third place in both the men’s and women’s competition

The No. 19/20 Alabama swimming and diving team concluded the second day of the Tennessee Invite with six top-three finishes, including a meet record from Charlie Hawke.

Hawke's 1:31.30 in the 200-yard freestyle was his second meet record in as many days after topping the mark in the 500-yard freestyle on Wednesday.

In addition to Hawke, Bernardo Bondra de Almeida (100 butterfly), Kaique Alves (200 freestyle) and Trey Sheils (100 breaststroke) earned second-place finishes, while Ella Menear (100 backstroke) and the men's 200 medley relay finished third.

The Crimson Tide held its third-place team ranking on both sides as the women tallied 417 points through 30 events and the men secured 469.

Alabama and North Carolina will meet for the second time this season and the first time ever in the NCAA Tournament. The Tide and Tar Heels recorded a 1-1 draw earlier this season.
