Interesting they threw in the towel in 1 relay to pursue the individual wins. You can do 2 events + 2 relays or 3 events + 1 relay. The smart choice given duel meet math, but feels good to know with gold medalists they're opting to not compete in the relays.

Alabama Cross Country Continues Postseason with NCAA South Regional Friday in Huntsville
The Crimson Tide will return to Huntsville, Ala., for the second time this season to compete in the regional with a chance to advance to the NCAA Championships
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Southeastern Conference champion Alabama men's and women's cross country teams are set to continue postseason competition Friday at the NCAA South Regional Championships in Huntsville, Ala.
The women's race, which covers 6-kilometers, gets underway at 8:30 a.m. CT, while the men's 10-kilometer race begins at 9:30 a.m. This marks the second year in a row that the South Regional has been held at the John Hunt Cross Country Running Park.

Not sure what the 3rd place finish means for the men - they do not automatically advance to the NCAA Championships (only the top 2). Maybe they can still get in with an at large bid?

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – A day after the Alabama women earned an automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Cross Country Championships by winning the NCAA South Regional Championships, the Crimson Tide men garnered an at-large bid Saturday. It marked the third time in program history that both the men and the women advanced to the national championships in the same year and the second season in a row.
This year's national championships will be held Saturday, Nov. 19 in Stillwater, Okla. It will be the men's 22nd appearance and the 11th for the women at the national championships.

The No. 6-ranked Alabama women are currently 3-0 on the season with wins over No. 19 Arkansas, No. 23 South Carolina and LSU. The No. 15 Crimson Tide men also hold a 3-0 record with wins over LSU, South Carolina and Delta State.

Victor Johansson bettered the school standard in the 500 freestyle on the first day of the Texas A&M hosted invitational
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Victor Johansson got the Alabama swimming and diving teams off to a great start at the Art Adamson Invitational in College Station, Texas Wednesday, picking up the win in the 500 freestyle with a school record.
Johansson touched the wall at 4:14.34 to better the previous mark of 4:14.82 set by Mark Randall in 2010. Charlie Hawke was second in the 500 with a time of 4:16.57, just off his career-best time.
Alabama swimmers return to action on Thursday, while the divers open competition at the WVU. Invite in Morgantown, W.Va., on Thursday.

Alabama Swimming and Diving Breaks Another School Record at Art Adamson Invitational
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Alabama swimmer Charlie Hawke kept the record breaking going on the second day of the Art Adamson Invitational in College Station, Texas Thursday, winning the 200 freestyle with his second school mark of the day in the event, before closing the night with a third record leading off UA's 800 freestyle relay.
Hawke went 1:32.24 in the prelims of the 200 freestyle to break the mark of 1:32.76 set by Robert Howard in 2019. He then came back in finals and buried his own record, going 1:31.92 to become the first UA swimmer under 1:32.0 in the event. He then swam a 1:31.89 to lead off the Tide's winning 800 freestyle relay (6:16.42) that included Kacper Piotrowski, Cam Auerbach and Kaique Alves.

* In the A final of the women's 100 breaststroke, Wiseman (1:00.15) takes second and Jocelyn Fisher (1:00.56) finished sixth with a career-best time that ranks her ninth all-time at UA
* In the A final of the men's 100 backstroke, Matt Menke (45.71) finished second, Eric Stelmar (47.00) took fourth and Jake Marcum (47.49) was seventh
* Derek Maas turned in a 51.95 to finish second and Trey Sheils went 53.39 to finish seventh in the A final of the men's 100 breaststroke
