Alabama Men’s Tennis Continues Fall Season at MSU Bulldog Invitational
The Alabama men's tennis team returns to action Friday, traveling to Starkville, Miss., for the three-day MSU Bulldog Invitational at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre. The Crimson Tide will open competition Friday at 11 a.m. CT, before beginning play Saturday at 10 a.m. CT and Sunday at 1 p.m. CT.

Alabama cross country's Mercy Chelangat opened her 2021 season by winning the Joe Piane Invitational Friday morning. It marked the defending NCAA Champion's fourth-consecutive cross country victory, dating back to last season's Florida State Invitational and including the SEC and NCAA titles.
In a field packed with ranked opponents, the No. 6-ranked Crimson Tide women finished third after tallying 147 points, just behind No. 1 NC State and No. 3 New Mexico. The UA men were sixth with 225 points

Alabama Rowing Opens Fall Competition at Head of the Oklahoma
The Crimson Tide will race on the Oklahoma River in downtown Oklahoma City
Alabama rowing opens fall competition this weekend at the OCU Head of the Oklahoma, with two days of racing starting Saturday, Oct. 2.
The Crimson Tide will are slated to compete in the Collegiate 8+, Novice 4+ and Collegiate 4+ on Saturday before breaking into singles and pairs races on Sunday. The competition is the first of two fall races for Alabama in 2021, with the Tide competing in Tuscaloosa on Saturday, Oct. 30 against Clemson at the Head of the Black Warrior River.
Alabama is looking to build on one of its most successful seasons in program history, qualifying for its first ever NCAA Tournament in the spring of 2021. The Tide finished 13th in the 22-team national field, helping earn head coach Glenn Putyrae Rowing Coach of the Year accolades. Alabama earned its first top-10 ranking during the season, placing as high as No. 7, and medaled in all four races at the 2021 Big 12 Championships to earn its second-straight second place finish.

The Crimson Tide’s Collegiate 8+ and Novice 4+ both won their races in the season opener
Alabama rowing opened its fall season with a pair of wins Saturday on day one of the Head of the Oklahoma.
The Crimson Tide was nearly 10 full seconds ahead of the field in the Collegiate 8+, posting a winning time of 13:31.90. Alabama's second crew in the race posted a third-place mark of 13:53.94, making the Tide one of just two teams to post times under 14:00.00.
Alabama's second win of the day came in the Novice 4+, with the Tide earning a convincing three-plus minute advantage over the field with a first-place time of 15:41.45 as the next-best crew crossed the line in 19:01.08. Alabama added a silver medal in the Collegiate 4+, with its leading crew posting a 15:18.41 mark.
The Tide concludes opening weekend Sunday with singles at 8:25 a.m. and pairs following soon after at 8:40 a.m.

Her performance in South Bend earned her National Runner of the Week honors from the coaches association and SEC Runner of the Week honors from the Southeastern Conference office.
In his second race for the Tide, Victor Kiprop took eighth at the Joe Piane Invitational, leading Alabama to a sixth-place team finish amidst a packed field. This led him to be named the SEC Freshman of the Week. It is second weekly honor from the SEC after opening his career as the SEC Runner of the Week following his Sept. 17 win at the North Alabama Showcase.
Alabama returns to competition on Oct. 15 at the NCAA Pre-Nationals Invitational in Tallahassee, Fla. The meet marks the Tide's regular-season finale.
