Some really good performances in this thread. Good to see all sports doing well.

Is there any way to watch/stream these events?

I’m not seeing (or at least not noticing) as many posting of ‘live streams’ as previous years. If I notice it moving forward I’ll post a link.

Swimming is the only sport today and it’s on SEC+

My bold prediction of the season... our women are gonna win the 400 free relay Honestly the women have really been pushing their relay starts, so hoping they don't get overly aggressive tonight. Seriously, on paper 2 of the relays that won had an aggregate negative reaction time, which should be a no no. Unsure how it didn't result in a DQ.

The prelims results from the 100 this morning...

Tonight we got wins in the women's 400 free relay, rhyan white won 200 backstroke, Morgan Scott won 100 free... we took 4 of the top 5 in that event. Tanesha Lucoe did win the 10m platform. Men had 1 win on the night Derek "Kevin" Maas winning 200 breaststroke.

Had we had better diving women finish 2nd, but here's their final score

And with better diving, the men wouldn't have tied for 2nd

Overall very solid meet for us. Can't be too upset at our placing, and diving coach quit mid season. Is what it is.

2022 SEC Championships: Rhyan White Finishes Triple Double, Tennessee Eases to Title

2022 SEC Championships: Rhyan White Finishes Triple Double, Tennessee Eases to Title

In case anyone needed a reminder of Rhyan White’s pedigree, the red-white-and-blue Olympian’s swimsuit provides it. In the water, the Alabama senior provides copious amounts of evidence as to just how unbeatable she is in backstroke.

White won the women’s 200 back at the 2022 SEC Championships for the third consecutive year, completing the triple-double of backstroke events in her career. White was slightly slower than her SEC record of 1:48.06, but her time of 1:50.22 is both an NCAA A cut and likely evidence that she’s not fully rested, with powder staying dry to blast off at NCAA.

It started a big night for Alabama, but in a sensational team race, they fell just five points behind Kentucky in the battle for second place. That was a gutsy way for the Wildcats, last year’s champion, to hand over their crown. But there was no stopping Tennessee, which clinched its second title in three years – in home water, no less – with 1,313.5 points and a winning margin of 270 points.

ALABAMA WOMEN EDGE OUT TENNESSEE TO RESET SEC RECORD IN 400 MEDLEY RELAY

The University of Alabama women won their third relay in four tries on the penultimate night of finals at the 2022 SEC Championships, edging out Tennessee to break the conference record by more than half a second.

The Crimson Tide got a huge lead-off leg from Rhyan White, who won the 100 back earlier in the session, as the senior catapulted the team into a big lead with a 50.44 opening leg.

White was followed by freshman Avery Wiseman (58.02), senior Morgan Scott (51.07) and junior Cora Dupre (47.11) as they combined to win the event in a time of 3:26.64, breaking their own SEC Record of 3:27.18 set earlier this season at the Tennessee Invite. That team featured White, Wiseman, Scott and Kalia Antoniou.

Alabama’s winning time also smashed the previous SEC Championship Record of 3:28.43 set by Tennessee in 2019.

One thing that really stands out about Alabama’s swim is their reaction times. Wiseman had a -.02 reaction, Scott was -.01 and Dupre was .00 for a combined -.03 on three exchanges. Compare that to Tennessee, who had a combined .90 reaction between their three takeovers.

‘Bama also combined to have a -.02 reaction in their winning 200 medley relay, with Wiseman controversially listed at -.07 (anything lower than -.03 is supposed to be a disqualification), though it was ultimately ruled a touchpad error.

In the race, the Vols were only 22 one-hundredths back of the Crimson Tide for the win, meaning Alabama essentially won the race with their exchanges, and by a wide margin. Had Alabama had the same reaction times as Tennessee, they would’ve finished in 3:27.57.

Tennessee’s Ellen Walshe threw down a blistering 49.75 split on butterfly, which put the Vols into the lead moving into the freestyle leg before Tjasa Pintar was overtaken by Dupre.

I'm glad they addressed this, I was getting close to hitting up Ozzie in the alumni group about these discrepancies. I didn't see anything egregious watching up, but you could see they were uncomfortably close to taking off too soon.

Alabama Records Ninth Straight Win With 4-2 Victory Over Minnesota

The 9-0 start is the best season opening for the Crimson Tide since the 2018 season

The Alabama women's tennis team recorded its ninth consecutive win on Sunday with a 4-2 victory over Minnesota at the Alabama Tennis Stadium. The win marks the first time since 2018 that the Crimson Tide has opened the season 9-0. The Gophers drop to 11-2 with the loss.

Plus a follow up question: saw this Saturday on the Bama pro sports page. What’s up with the instability on the diving side of swim/dive?

Alabama's Tanesha Lucoe won the SEC title in women's platform diving. The team made a coaching change for diving in November, now have a grad assistant leading the group. GA is the school's 4th diving coach in 5 seasons.

That's impressive fortitude for the junior.

Medium. Men's recruiting isn't doing red hot, but the women's side is looking ok. Nobody's had a breakout year, nor dramatically better than last season. But after the off-season purge we've held together. I think Ozzie staying around helped some.

It's weird predicting how people will react to different training. There was a guy i swam against, didn't start swimming year round until 15... gold medalist by 20. I think he was a national champ at 18. So who really knows what's gonna happen with kids who from a less structured background.
