UAB needs to buy the DCH medical centers

DCH stands for Don’t Come Here

I’m familiar. The UA med school was in Farrah hall where I had classes. It moved I believe in the 40s or 50s to Bham.

The UA Law School was in Farrah too. Now that’s where the geography department is.

When will the state of Alabama ever have an Education Lottery? The state needs it.

it makes sense that it's in Birmingham since that is the state's largest city

Huntsville is now larger than Birmingham by almost 30k. It has been for several years.

The dental, medical, optometry etc is all at uab. Most states med schools are in the largest city. I am no fan of UAB either

Tuscaloosa City limits already travel down I-20/59 to encircle the Mercedes industrial park. What if we just do the same thing to UAB's campus and liquidate it back into UA?

Hopefully the next person is someone who knows the economy is headed off a cliff and prepare for that.

How about an industrial park like Stanford did a century ago? There's a reason why they prob. Have more billionaires than just about any other school in the world.

Need a link, hope it's true. Read "VC" years ago and was impressed. That's why Silicon Valley happened. UA should try taking on fields that will be huge in the upcoming years. No shame in being 2nd if another local school is already tops. Talking space, robotics, bio engineering, etc.
