Reading the nuggets and tea leaves, including the move to announcing on Oct 3, I feel pretty optimistic.

I snuck over to the AU board and checked their basketball thread to see what they were hearing. I guess AU has an insider named "Hooks"? Not really sure, but apparently the Hooks guy posted this:
Credit to the AU posters in their thread for calling BS on Hooks' second sentence, because that part sounds like some BS. Either way it is interesting to see that the AU folks aren't very confident at this point.

Hooks I think is a car dealer and owns a burger shop in Auburn. He was connected with Barbee and I believe one assistant that had back in that era. I think he’s a good sized donor which would explain the somewhat continued insider access. He poses most of his thoughts more as a fanboy and less as just an insider giving facts though.

That makes sense - I never heard of him before.
Something is still keeping me pessimistic for some reason, but it certainly is sounding better and better.

Especially with Watts saying "Davison or bust" at the position and that they stopped recruiting Darius Johnson.
That's kind of scary, but I guess that means the staff feels confident.

That could also have been because they felt it was a waste of time with his dad being a part of the UCF staff.
I’m not really concerned about it, because I don’t think Quinerly will be a serious pro prospect after this year given his size, and if he is then convincing a top grad transfer PG to come join an offense that in 2 years pumped out 2 1st round picks at the PG position shouldn’t be hard.

Yeah, those are good points as well.
I agree that the program should be fine either way, but getting Davison makes things much easier on and off the court, assuming he actually makes it to campus.
A few days ago I had myself convinced that we weren't really in it anymore for some reason and now i'm trying not to pencil him into the starting five for 2021.
