I know that UCLA is considered a blue blood, but I'm not sure they are anymore.

You could have said the same about Alabama at one point in time pre Saban.

They might be a sleeping giant.

Well, people did say that about Bama. Now I'm saying it about UCLA.

I keep hearing this but I'm not sure why. They recently are struggling but despite that their 15 year resume isn't all that far from UK/Duke

Since 2004 (15 seasons)

Sweet 16:
UK- 9
Duke- 9
UCLA- 6

Elite Eight:
UK- 4
Duke- 5
UCLA- 3

Final Fours:
UK- 4
Duke- 2
UCLA- 3

Runner Up:
UK- 1
Duke- 0
UCLA- 1

Champions:
UK- 1
Duke-1
UCLA-0

It's not just about the last 15 years. They had an extremely good streak from 64-75 and won tons of championships. They have won 1 national championship in 44 years.

If UCLA wins a NC next year, their NC count from 1960+ will be the same as Kansas. Why is KU allowed in?

It is only recently that we are seeing this concentration of wins by 3-4 coaches

UNC pre Roy Williams had only 2 NC between 1958-2004

UK had only 2 NC between 1979-2011

Kansas has only 2 NC between 1953-2019

IU has no NC between 1988-2019

If Bama had only won 1 national championship since Bear died, people would be pronouncing us dead.

So all the following programs were/are dead? Pretty sure all of them are still considered elite FB royalty jobs when they open up

Alabama: 1 Title (1980-2008)
Texas: 1 Title (1971-2019)
Ohio St: 1 Title (1971-2013)
Michigan: 1 Title (1949-2019)
USC: 1 Title* (1979-2019)
NotreDame: 1 Title (1978-2019)
Auburn: 1 Title (1958-2019)

UCLA had no championships before 1964. Then they got incredibly hot and won 10 between 1964-1975. If you take that one time frame out of their 100 years, they have 1 national championship.

It's like declaring Alabama a blue blood based entirely on the Saban years

Pretty good point about Pearl. He has already proven he can win at any program. Throw enough money at him and see if he bolts. I don’t think that Oats would leave at the point. Just seems a little off that he turn right around and leave.

Heck, why not make a run at Pitno. I bet he would get approval in the Pac 12.
