Gym time must impede on party time

Even if a big don't guard him, it will create a match up problem with the player they choose to guard.
My point was the others teams big doesn’t have to go out and guard our 6’9” guy. He can stay inside around the rim and Reese doesn’t exploit the 6’3” guy on him. I don’t want to seem like I am hating so to speak bc I don’t want anybody to leave the team . Just bring in the new guys to replace the ones going pro and we still have a good roster . Reese has a role .... it’s just not defense

And obviously the hip is a problem or he wouldn't be having surgery.

Some of you probably need to go ahead and start rehearsing your "well he bought in and played a lot better" lines for next year. While, those of us who weren't over the top either way about Reese will not be surprised when he has a good year, even if he is never a superstar.

The big will still have to guard someone so you still create a match up issue. If Reese is at the 5 the entire line up Will be a threat to score from outside.

I bet some of us won’t have to say that. Some of us can speak our opinions and admit when we are wrong, if we end up being wrong. Some of us will continue to speak our opinions and not give a damn if others disagree with it.

He will guard which ever player is in the post , unless we go to a 5 out, then it could be a problem

If Reese is at the 5, who would you assume would be on the floor with him?

That you Reese?

I think we forget that Oats like to play 5 out.

I'll be happy to see it. I'm accustomed to almost everyone here doing exactly what I said - acting like there was some unforeseeable turnaround in a player rather than it just being normal growth and better circumstances.

Some of us always admit when they are wrong about something and don’t make any excuses about it

Teague you are correct. There were quite a few who wanted Petty to stay in the transfer portal also.

Maybe Herb? If Reese is camping around the 3pt line, he is not a 5 regardless if he is labeled that way . Someone , will still be “in the paint” in an offensive set . There were several games after injuries where after foul troubles, It was a thrown together group to get by

I know.
Pretty sure I have some of those bookmarked.

If they are playing 5 out you don't want a big guarding Herb off the dribble. It would require a teammate to help the big. Not the best situation with shooters all over the court.

If Herb is at the 3pt line , nobody should be out in his face guarding him against the 3pt shot
Maybe I missed it but other than transition I don’t remember us with 5 guys exclusively outside the arc very often . No matter the player someone has to TRY to grab a board

Would love for these to get resurfaced. I defended petty hard before the season yet people were so convinced that he was lazy as shite and wanted to do nothing but jack up 3's. (might have been true his freshman year, but he showed really nice improvement last year)

I'm sure Oats is smart enough to put a line up on the court that would force the big to have to play defense or get switches with screens. LOL
