I know they’re interested in the Rice transfer Trey Murphy. Not saying they’re going to get him, but could mean they feel they have a decent chance. Just speculating.

I like Murphy. 6'8 guard who shot 42% from three as a freshman. Pretty consistent scorer too, only had four games last year where he got under 10 points. Not nearly as up and down as Trey McGowens.

You’d have to think that if they aren’t going with Singleton, they like their chances with another PG, no? I wasn’t crazy high on Singleton, but he would have helped sure up the backup PG minutes.

When I first heard that we'd contacted him I assumed he was a backup plan in case we missed on some others.

Oats is killing it in recruiting, Primo and Ellis would be huge adds. I'm a Bruner Commitment away from making a Nate Oats quarantine sculpture for my front yard.

Primo is a good ball handler, but I think Keon is even better to be honest. Not sure they would want him playing PG as he would be bettter suited to playing the 3. I think they’re going to push hard for Trey Murphy even though he will sit next year.

Murphy isn’t a PG though, is he? Who would you expect as our backup PG? That wouldn’t leave us with a ton of options at the 1 spot.

I was never in favor of having a guard that couldn’t shoot worth a crap so I’m glad he’s going to New Mexico. Hopefully we do find another backup though because JQ can’t play Kira level minutes. That would end up killing his efficiency.
