I agree. But the same can be said for Primo and with his size he has more positional flexibility. I’m not confident Shack would start over Primo, but Harper seems almost 100% sure Primo would get the nod over Shackelford. Just curious to see if he’s heard something or if this is just his opinion.

I’ll go with Shack. He has gained invaluable experience playing in the league for a year. Plus he will get better this year.

Even if Petty came back, Primo and Shack would both play close to 30 minutes a game regardless of which one starts.
Keon Ellis or whoever the next guard in the rotation is after those two guys is whos minutes would be effected the most.

Losing Herb would suck. Just from a team leadership standpoint. Nvm him being one of the best defensive players in America and he did get better offensively this last year too.

I could see that with Herb.... his stroke hasn’t gotten better since arriving really ... would hate to lose him though

Yeah they were just speculating, I dont think they have any inside info or anything but as someone who would literally bet money that Herb comes back I was surprised to hear that opinion from them.

I believe we are all off work too much right now and looking into all these things deeper than we should.
I’ve NEVER heard any college player say “I’m going to forego my final year of college and enter the NBA D-League” lol now all of a sudden 2 of our 3 best players are leaving?
I don’t see it.

I think the chances that Petty return are greater if all the pre draft workouts get cancelled like it's looking like. I was at about 70/30 he would leave, if he isn't able to work out for any teams I think it's more 50/50. With a good workout for a team looking for an elite three point shooter I could've seen him getting drafted in the second round.

I sure wish we could go ahead and land some transfers. That would give us a much better idea on who will be here next season. I’m very grateful for Primo, but I’m ready to finish this

Well Oats is recruiting as if Kira, Petty, and Herb are gone. If they come back then someone like Smith or Forbes will have to go. Even though Herb and Petty may come back you cant not recruit someone for that spot, you'd be screwed if they did leave.
I think we sign 3 or 4 more players regardless.
Sounds like Ellis, Bruner, and Singleton are all pretty close to a decision.
Would be nice If Bruner decided pretty quick so we can move onto someone like Brandon Johnson, who we;ve already contacted if Bruner goes elsewhere.
I feel pretty good about Bruner though, I think it will be us or Baylor.

I’m looking at it like Kira and Petty are gone. Whether they should or not, doesn’t matter to me. It’s not my decision. I just want to see what our finished roster will look like

Yeah me too, I hope Petty comes back but I'm not gonna count on it, guess I'll take the Oats approach and just be pleasantly surprised if he returns.

I get the feeling he is leaning Bama as well. He'd better not choose Bama then decide to go to the NBA at the last minute. That'd be the most Alabama basketball thing to ever happen.

What are ya’lls predictions for next season-if we get Ellis and Bruner on top of Primo? Final 4 or you gonna play it safe and say sweet sixteen?
