He had said when we first offered him we would be in his top schools, so not very surprising. I think we have a great shot at him. This is from May.
quote:
“It’s wonderful,” Beauchamp told BamaOnLine of the offer. “It’s a dream come true to have an SEC offer, coming from a big school like Alabama.”
“They play basically the best teams, and it’s probably one of the best conferences, if not the best,” Beauchamp said.
“It started after I posted that my recruitment is open,” Beauchamp said of the Tide’s interest. “They hit me right after. ‘Cause it kind of seemed on websites like I was going to UW.” So far, so good when it comes to his thoughts on Hodgson. “He’s a cool dude,” Beauchamp said. “He keeps it one-hundred. It seems like they really want me. They think I can be a lottery pick.”
Beauchamp is somewhat familiar of the UA program. He recalled the Tide’s recent tournament appearance in 2018. He’s also taken notice of what new head coach Nate Oats did at Buffalo. “I seen that he made it to the tournament at Buffalo and they beat a good team in Arizona State,” Beauchamp said. “I think he knows what he’s talking about. He’s a good coach.” Beauchamp says the Tide is very much in the mix. “They’ll be in my top (schools),” he said.

I’m helping some other folks create a new Bama basketball site. It’s called Crimson Crossover. It’s in the early stages right now, but the twitter account is up and running (@CrimsonXOver) and @crimsoncrossover on insta. There’s gonna be a lot of legit info posted there. I really value a lot of their opinions and info. Y’all know a lot of the people who will be involved I think. Would be cool if some of y’all gave it a look when it came out. I’m still gonna be here tho lol this is my home for Bama basketball

Yes. There’s a lot planned. Discussion board, articles, podcasts, interviews, and more. We figured since our media only cares to cover football, we’d do it ourselves

Very Nice. Will definitely check it out when ready

Not sure we'll have room for him since we'll probably only be able to sign two in this class without some transfers but we made Colby Jones' top schools.

Looking at the guys we are going after and seeing their scouting reports, it’s very easy to see what the Oats philosophy is when it comes to recruiting. And it’s not what most would expect, but it’s what is by far the most important: Passing and versatile, athletic defenders. Our main targets score very well on passing/vision and on athleticism and defense. Interestingly, all of our main targets biggest struggle according to scouting reports? Shooting.
It’s clear that Oats is going after players who are athletic and willing defenders and have a passing/vision quality that’s not really teachable, and confident he can turn them into at least passable shooters.

That’s not even including JQ who I think will have impact if cleared.

Oats has implied several times that he can teach better shooting which should be music to our ears. If the players we already have buy into this and do what he asks and learn to shoot better, they already have some of the qualities he looks for in recruits. We could be pretty good if things come together.

Still crazy to me how Shackelford seems to be evaluated as the least valuable of the 3.

I personally think Jeantal Cylla is the better answer regarding Arkansas. It mainly has to do with our depth. Cylla should get more playing time purely because he is a Forward.
